' General Forrest served with the 4th Dragoon Guards the Eastern camjiaign of 1854-55, including the battles
of Balaklava and Inkerman, siege of Sebastopol, night attack on Hussian outposts 19th Feb. 1855. and battle of
Tchernaya (Medal with three Clasps, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the
Medjidie).
* Major Watson served with the King's Dragoon Guards in the Zulu war of 1879; was Staff Officer at Conference
Hill from T3th Juno to 3rd August, and served afterwards with the squadron of the Hegiment in Baker Hussell's
Flying Column (Medal with Clasp).
^ Major Swainc served with the 17th Lancers in the Zul".i war of 1879, and was present in the engagement at
TJlundi (Medal with Clnsp). Served in the Boor war of iSSi as Aide de Camp to Major General Drury Lowe, Com¬
manding the Cavalry Brigade. Served in the Egj-ptian war of 1882 as Aide de Camp to Major General Diury Lowe,
Commanding the Cavaliy Division, a.nd was present at the engagements of El Magfar and Tel-el-Mahnta, the two
actions at Kassasin, the battle of Tcl-el-Kebir, and the capture of Cairo (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of
Major, Medal with Clasp, 4th Class of the Medjidie, and Khedive's Star). Served in the Nile Expedition in 1SS4-
85 with the Light Camel Regiment, and took part in the operations of the Desert Column (Olasp).
« Captain Dewar served with the King's Dragoon Guards in the Zulu war of 1S79. Served afterwards with the
jrounted Infantry (94th Regt.) throughout the operations against Sekukuni, and was present at the attack and
capture of the stronghold, 28 November 1879 —severely wounded (Medal with Clasp).
* Captain W. Harrison served as a volunteer with ihe 4th Driigocn Guards in the Egyptirn wr.rof iEf2, and was
present in the engagement at Mahsama, the two actions at Kassasin, the battle of Tel-el-Kebir, and at the capture
of Cairo (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star). Served thronghout the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 with the
Light Camel Regiment, and took part in the operations of the Desert Column including the engagement at Abu
Klea Wells on the 16th and 17th February (Clasp).
"' Lieut. Waring served as a volunteer with the 4th Dragoon (luards in the Egyptian war of 18S2, and was
present at the action at Kassasin on zSth August (Medal, anil Khedive's Star).
