Allahabad, on the 5th Jan. 185S, and subsequently with the 7th Hussars in the Indian mutiny campaign Irom Feb.
to July 1858, and from Dec. 1858 to March 1859, and was present at the affair of Meengunge, siege and capture of
Lucknow, affairs of Ban-ee and Sirsee (horse wounded), action of Nawabgunge (severely wounded whilst leading
a squadron against a bod.y of Gazzie fanatics, mentioned in Sir Hope Grant's despatch for "most conspicuous
gallantry," Brevet of Major), throughout the Trans-Gogra campaign, including the affair near Churda and pursuit,
toking the fort of Meejedia, attack on Bankeo with pursuit to the Raptee, advance into Nepaul and affair at
bitkaghat (Victoria Cross, Medal with Clasp): received the 1T£ " for conspicuous and cool gallantry, on the 31st
December 1858, in having volunteered, at great personal risk, and under a sharp fire of musketry, to swim to the
rescue of Captain Stisted and some men of the 7th Hussars, who were in imminent danger of being drowned in the
River Roptee. while in pursuit of the robe's. Major Fraser succeeded in this gallant service, although at, the time
partially di,sabled, not having recovered from a severe wound received while leading a Squadron in a charge against
some fanatics m the action of Nawabgunge, on the 13th June 1858." Served in the Abyssinian campaign in i863 aa
Commandant at Head Quarters, and in charge of the outposts, and was present at the action of Arogee and capture
of Magdala (mentioned iu despatches " fur unceasing vigilance," Ci/., niid Medal).
2 Colonel Langtry served with the 3rd Dragoon Guards in the Abyssinian campaign in 1868, and was present at
the storming and capture of Magdala (Medal). Served with the 15th Hussars in the Caudahar Column in the
Afghan war of 1878-So, including the advance to Khelat-i-Ghilzai; commanded a detaclied squadron of his Regi¬
ment at the affair in the Ghlo Pass, 4th January 1S79; also served with the ThuU-Uhotiali Field Force under
Brigadier General Biddulph, and accompanied M.ajor General Phayre in his march to Candahar (Medal).
' Major Davidson served in the Egyptian war of 1882 with the 13th Bengal Lancers, and was present at the action
at Kassasin (9th September) and at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive s Star).
' Lieut. Wolfe served with the ist Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers iu the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present
at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
J- Lieut. Dwyer served in the Zulu war in 1879 with the ijth Lancers, and was present in the engagement at
Ulundi (Medal with Clasp).
'Quarter Master Hefleron served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 8th Hussars, including the recon-
uaissance to Silistria, battles of Alma, Balaklava, Inkcrman, and the Tchernaya, affairs of Bulganac and
M Kenzie's Farm, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Also served in
the Indian Campaign of 1858-50, and was present at the capture of Kocah, re-occupation of Chandaree, battle of
Kota-ke-Serai, and canture of Gwalior (Medal with Clasp fur Central India). Has also the Medal for Long and
Meritorious Service. Served with the 8th Hussars in the Afghan war in 1879-80 (Medal).
