1 General W. H. Seymour served with the 68th Light Infantry during the Crimean campaign of 1854-5;,
including the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, and
Turkish Medal). Aecoin])iinied the 2nd Dragoon Guards to India, and served in the Indian Mutiny campaignsof
1838-59, including the action of Nusserutpore, siege ami caiiture of Lucknow (charger wounded), and sub.seiiiient
operations, action of Nawabgunge (in command of three squadrons of the Regiment), and reoceupation of Fyzabad.
Commanded the Bays throughout the Oude campaign, including the action of Jamo(wounded), assault a'ud cap¬
ture of Birwah, and Trans-Gogra affairs at Bungaon (Gazetted Brevet Major on 20th July 1858, frequently mentioned
in despatches. Medal with Clasp, and CB.).
'■• Lt.Colonel Wardrop served in the Egyptian war of 1882 as Aide do Camp to Sir Garnet Wolseley, and was present
iit the engagements of El Magfar, Tel-el-Mahuta, Kassnsiu (9th Sept.), and in the battle of Tel-el-Kobir(rneutioned
in despatches. Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp, 4th Class of the Medjidie, and Khedive's Star). Served with the
Nile Expedition in 1884-85 as Deputy .Assistant .Adjutant and Quarter Master General with the Desert Column, and
was present at the action of Abu Klea, in tin reconnaissance to Metammeh, and in the engagement at Abu Klea
Wells on the i6th and 17th February (several times mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Lt.Coloncl, two Clasps).
« Lieut. J. H. Martin served in the Egyptian War of 1882 (Medal, and Khedive's Star).
