"* Lt.Coloncl G. V. Fosbery served with the Eusofzaie expeditionary force under Generals Chamberlain and
Garvock during the operations at Umbeyla from October to December 1863 where he commanded a body of marks¬
men of the 71st and loist Regiments armed with rifles firing shells of his own invention ; was engauedin the de¬
fence of the Crag and Eagle's Nest Pi(|nets, and as a volunteer with Mnjor Keyos at the storming of the Sunga .n
the Crag Pi(iuet, where he led a jiarty of the ist Punjaub Infantry and Corps <jf Guides, and was the first man i-

assembled a party with which he pursued the routed enemy in the direction of the Lalloo ridge, indicting on them
further loss and confirming possession of the post."

present with Havelock's Column in the actions of Futtchpore, Aoung, Pandoo Nuddee, Cawnpore, Onao, Buseerufr
Gunge (ist and 2nd), Boorbe.akechowkee, and Bithoor; subsequent defence of the Alumbagh, actions at La
Martiniere, and second relief of Lticknow, defence of Cawnpore, defeat of the Gwalior mutineers, and actions of
Kala Nuddcc and Kerkeroulie, cai^ture of Bareilly, affairs of Shahjehanpore, Bunny, and Mahomdie, and several
minor affairs (Medal with two Clasps, Brevet of Major, and a year's service for Lucknow).
^22 Sir William Gordon (17th Lancers) served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Balaklava
(wounded and horse shot) and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th
Class of the Metljidie. and Turkish Medal). Served in the campaign of Central India, and commanded a Squadron
in the affairs of Rajghur, Mongrowleo, Sindwaho, Kharee, and Zorapore (twice mentioned in despatches for gallant
conduct at Rajghur and Mongrowlce, Brevet of Major, and Medal).
"^ Lt.Colonel F. W. Gore served with the 6th Regt. in the Kaffir wars of 1846-47 and o( 1851-53 (Medal). Served
with the Buffs at the siege of Sebastopol from ist to i6th May 1855, after which as Aide de Camp to Major General
Michel with the Turkish Contingent (Medal with Clasp, Turkish Medal, and 4th Class of the Medjidie).
1'^* Lt.Colonel J. P. Gore served with the 2nd Battalion Royals in Canada during the rebellion in 1837-38, including
the storm and capture of St. Charles and St. Eustache, and ulterior operations on the Richelieu and adjacent country.
"Was with the Right Wing onbotird the Premier when that transport was wrecked, in Nov. 1843, in the Gulf of St.
Lawrence. Landed with the Baitalion in the Crimea on the 22nd April 1855, and was at the siege and fall of
Sebastopol, and wounded in the Treuchos on the 6th July (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
Served throughout the campaign of i860 in North China, and was present at the storm and capture of Siuho and
Tangku, .occupation of Tientsin, and .siuTcuder of Pekin (Medal .and Clasps).
'^5 Lt.Colonel F. R. C. Grant served with the gth Lancers in the Indian mutinj- campaign, Including the battle of j
Budlekeserai, throughout the siege and ass.ault of Delhi (horses shot on the igth June and 14th Sept. 1S57), actions j
of Bolundshuhur, AUyghur, Agra, and Kanoge, capture of Meeangunge, relief of Lucknow by Loi-d Clyde (Medal)
with two Clas[is). Served throughout the camjiaign of i860 in North China as Aide de Camp to Sir Hope Grant, ;
including the capture of Pekin (Medal with Clasps, and Brevet of Major).
126 Lt.Colonel J. W. Graves served with the i8th Royal Irish in China from September 1S40 to Jime 1847 (Medal>
and was present at the storming and capture of the Heights above Canton, attack and capture of Amoy, second
capture of Chusan, attack and capture of the Heights of Chinghae, occui)ati<m of Ningpo, iind repulse of tha
night attack, attack and capture of the enemy's entrenched Camp on the Heights of Segoan, attack and cajjture.

Sept. (Medal with three Clasps, mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Major, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th
Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
12* Lt.Colonel T. E. Green served with the 82nd Regiment in Bengal during the Indian mutiny in 3S57-58 (Medal),
and with the Military Train in New Zealand from 1864 to 1867 (Medal).
"9 Lt.Colonel D. C. Greene served with the 43rd Light Infantry in the Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal). Nominated
to the 4th Class of the Medjiihe for service with the Turkish Contingent.
"1 Lt.Colonel A. C. Grcv'iUe served as Aide de Camp to Sir Harry Smith and t.i Sir George Cathcnrt in the Kaffir
war of 1851-53 (Medal), and was present at the battle of Herea. Served again as Aide do Camp to Sir George Cath-
cart in the Eastern campaign of 1854, including the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman (where Sir George was
killed), and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
