^^ Major General C. Lyons-Montgomery served in the Chota Nap-pore districts during the mutinies in 1857 ; a nd

expedition into the Bazar Valley under Lieut.General Maude, the expedition against the Khugianis, the en^a^e-
mont at Kam Dakka, and the operations in the Kama district (mentioned in despatches. Medal).
^^ Major General H. S. Obbard served in Buudlecundin 1842-43. Also in the Punjaub campaign in 1849. Present
at the mutiny of the Native Troops at JuUander in June 1857 and accompanied the pursuing Column when the
mutineers jiassed Loodianah. Assisted in raising the 21st Punjaub Infantry of which he commanded a wing and
a troop cf Pathan Cavalry in the Googaira District during the rebellion of the Kurals in October 1857 (Medal).
Served ia the Afghan war in 1879-80 (Medal).
6* Major General C. F. Hicks served during the Sutloj campaign. Present with the 6th Bengal Native Infantry
when it mutinied at Allahabad on the 6th June 1857. Commanded a detachment of Irregular Cavalry during the
operations in the vicinity of Allahabad, and afterwards served as a volunteer in Havelock's Cavalry throughout
the operations of that force iMedal).

70 Colonel A. Pond served in the Sutlej campaign of 1845-46, including the action of AUwal (Medal). Served
also in the Indian mutiny campaign in 1857-58, and present at the action ne.ir Agra with the Ncemuch mutinc-era
(wounded), and at an engagement with the rebels at the village of Chawhowlee, which was surprised, captured, and
destroyed. Commanded a Wing of the 3rd Europeans at the capture and destruction of a vUlage 30 miles from
Agra. Present at the battle of Agra. Commanded four companies of Europeans at the taking of Puttehiicre
Sikree, as also when the position of Shereghur Ghat was secured, when 1500 rebels wore driven through the ravines
and across the river, and held the Ghat in action for five or six hours (Medal).

8* Colonel R. Barter served as Adjutant 75th Hcgt. throughout the Indian mutiny campaign of 1857-58, and was
present at the battle of Budlee ke Serai (srvcrfcly wounded), siege storm and capture of Delhi, including the six
days' lighting in the streets, whore he commanded the remnant of his Regiment for nearly 48 hours, all senior to
him having Ijccn killed or disabled. Served with Greathed's Column in pursuit, and present at the action of Bolund-
shur aifairs of Allyghur and Akerabad, and battle of Agra. With Sir Hope Grant's Column at Canoge, during the
advance on Cawnp<u-e ; crossed into Oude and present at Maharajgunge, and .skirmish near the Ahniihagh. With
the Aiumbagh Garrison, and at the relief of Lucknow by Lord (Jlyde. I'rcsent with the force under Sir James Out-
