' General Errin<iton served with the 51st Light Infantry during the war in Burmah from April to Dec. 1S52;
Tfas on board the E.I.C. steam-sloop Sesottrh during the naval action and destruction of the enemy's stockades
on the Rangoon River; served during the succeeding three days' operations in the vicinity, ami commanded the
Regiment at the storm and capture of Rangoon ; healsocommanded the troops engaged at the assault and capture
of Bassein, 19th May (wounded), and received the especial approbation of the Governor General in Council for his
