ture of ilohumrah (Medal with Clasp). Served iu Bengal with Ilavelock's column, on the Staff of that General,
and was present in the actions of Onao, Busseerutijunge (jst and 2nd), Boorbeakechowkee, and Bithoor, and iu
the several actions leading to and ending in the reuef of the Residency of Lucknow on 25th Sept. 1857 ; also
during the subsequent defence as D.A.Q.M. General to the force until the final relief by Lord Clyde on 24th Nov.
1857 (Medal with Clasp and a yeav s service)-
'^ Lt.Colonel Bazalgette hinded in India with the 37th Regt. in June 1857, and served there until the suppression
of the mutiny, being engaged with the enemy on several occasions (Medal).
"> Lt.Colonel G. G. Beazley served with the Force which attacked and destroyed the town of Malageah, W.
coast of Africa, in Ma.y 1855. Served with the 83rd Regiment during the suppression of the Indian mutiny, and
was present at the affair of Sanganeer 8th August 1838, defeat of the Gwalior rebels at Kotaria, surprise and
attack of the rebels at Seckur (Medal with Clasp for Central India).
'' Lt.Colonel Beckham served the Peninsula campaigns of 1812, 13, and 14.
1* Lt.Colouel Bell-Martin served with the gth Lancers, either in command of a Troop or Sijuadron, during the
Indian mutiny iu 1857-59, includmg the battle of Budlekeserai, siege assault and caiJture of Delhi (horse shot on
14th September). On the Cavalry Staff with General Greathed's Column in the actions of Bolundshuhur and Ally-
ghur, and battle of Agra.. Present at the relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, battle of Cawnpore and pui'suit of the
Gwalior Contingent on the 6th December, actions of Seraighat and Khuda gunge, capture of Mceangunge (as
Brigade Major of Cavalry), action of Kalee Nuddco and occupation of Futtyghur, siege and capture of Lucknow,
the summer campaign in Oude and Bohilcuud, and actions at Rhodamow and Allyghur, capture of Bareilly, action
at Shahjehanporc, and pursuit to Mahomdee (four times mentioned in despatches, Medal with three Clasps).
" Lt.Colonel Bertram served with the 41st Rogt. in the Crimean campaign from the 6th Feb. to the 7Dh Sept. 1855,
including the siege of Sebastopol (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
2' Lt.Colonel Bickerstaff served in the Indian mutiny campaign; commanded the Head Quarters of the Carabineers
in the action of Kukrowlie, and at the taking of Bareilly; commanded a Wing of the Regiment at the attack and
bombardment of Shahjehaniiore; commanded the right Cavalry attack in several subsequent affairs against the
Moulvie. Commanded the Carabineers with Lord Cl.ydc's Force in the Oude campaign, including the action at Doon-
deakerea; also in the Trans-Gogra campaign, including the affair near Churda, taking of Fort Meejeedia, attack
on Bankee with pursuit to the Raptee (severtil times mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Lt.Colonel, and Medal).
-- Lt.Colonel G. M. Billington served with the 4th Regt. in the Crimea subsequent to the fall of Seba,siopol
from the i8th March 1856. Also with it during the Indian Campaign of 1857-58, and was severely wounded in
the attack on the Fort ou Beyt Island on the 2nd of April 1858 (Medal).
-3 Lord Bingham served the Eastern campaign of 1854 as Aide de Camp to Lord Lucan, including the battles of
Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman (Brevet of Major, Medal with three Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th
Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
'■"^ Lt.Colonel Blennerhassett served with the 71st Light Infantry in the Canadian rebellion. Also in the Crimean
campaign from 20th Dec. 1854 to 13th Feb. 1855, including the siege of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish
Medal). Served in the Indian campaign under Sir John Michel, and was present at the actions of Raijghur (in
command of the Left Whig 71st), Mungrowlee, Sindwaho, and Kurai (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, and
mentioned in despatches).
-5 Lt.Colonel Edward Bond served with the 53rd Regt. in the Sutlej campaign in 1846, and was present at the
affair of Buddiwal, and actions of Aliwal and Sobiaon (Medal and Clasp).
3" Lt.Colonel Henry Bond served in the 17th Light Dragoons at the taking of Anjar in Cutcli in 1816; also through¬
out the Mahratta campaign of 1817-18. Ho was present with the nth Light Dragoons at the siege and capture of
Bhurtpore in 1825-26 (Medal). Accompanied the 3rd Light Dragoons into Affghanistan with the force under Sir
George Pollock, and was present at the forcing of the Khyber Pass, and in every engagement in the advance of the
Army on Cabool; also commanded the Rear Guard on three different occasions,—engaged the enemy at Tezeen and
JugduUuck, and safely covered and protected the whole of the baggage of the Ai-my, notwithstanding the repeated
attacks of the enemy (Medal).
^^ Lt.Colonel Bouverie served in the Persian war in 1857 as a Brigade Major, including the bombardment of
Mohumrah (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp). Served with the 78th Highlanders in Bengal with Havelock's Co¬
lumn from its first taking the field in 1857, including the actions of Futtehpore, Aoung, Pandoo Nuddee, Cawnpore,
Onao, Buseerutgunge (first and second), Boorbeakechowkee and Bithoor; as Brigade Major in the several actions
loading to and ending in the relief of Lucknow and subsequent defence ; with Outram's Force at Alumbagh, includ-
iDg the repulse of the numerous attacks, and in the operations ending in the final ca,ptm-e of Lucknow (Brevet of
Lt.Colonel, Medal with Clasp, and a year's service for Lucknow).
^ Lt.Colonel J. G. Hay-Boyd served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the baltles of Alma, Balaklava,
and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, affair of i8th Jane, and capture of Kinbourn (Medal with four Clasps,
Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
2* Lt.Colonel Hon. W. G. Boyle served the Eastern campaign of 1854 as Aide de Camp to Sir De Lacy Evans, in¬
cluding the battles of Alma and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Brevet of Major, Medal with three Clasps, 5th
Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
3= Lt.Colonel liramston served with the Rifle Brigade in the Kaffir -war of 1852-53 (Medal). Also the Eastern cam¬
paign of 1854, and up to 6th Aug. 1855, including the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, and siege of Sebas¬
topol (Medal with four Clasps, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
3" Lt.Colonel A. Bravo was employed at Cape Coast Castle in 1S73-74 (Ashanti Medal).
^' Lt.Colonel W. J. Brook served with the 30th Regiment in the Crimea from 8th September 1855, as D.A.Q.M.G.
4th Division (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
** Lt.Colonel R. W. Brooke served with the ist Battalion 60th Rifles during the second siege operations at Mooltan,
including the siege and storm of the town and c.ipture of the citadel of Mooltan ; afterwards iirescnt at the battle of
Goojerat, pursuit of the Sikh Army under Rajah Sliere Sing until its final surrender at Rawul Pindee, occupation
of Attock and Peshawur, and expulsion of the Affghan Force under the Ameer Dost Mahomed beyond the Khyber
Pass; was wounded at Mooltan 27th Dec. 1848 (Medal with two Clasps). Served also in the Kaffir war of 1851-53
(Medal). Served as Brigade Major to Brigadier General Staveloy during the China campaign of i860, aud the sub¬
sequent occupatirm of Tientsin and capture of the Taku Forts (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).
™ Lt.Colonel (;. B. Brown served with the 63rd Regiment at the assault of the Redan and fall of Sebastopol,
also at the boml ardmeut and surrender of Kinbourn (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
*" Lt.Colonel H. J. V. Brown served with the 88th Regt. the Eastern camiiaign up to 7th Dec. 1854, including the
Vjattles of Alma Mid Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Modal with thi'ee Clasps, Brevet of Major, Sardinian and
Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
*' Lt.Colonel B. P. Browne served the campaign of 1815 with the nth Dragoons, and was present at the battle of
Waterloo (Medal). Also at the siege and capture of Bhurtpore under Lord Combermere in 1825-26; and was a
volunteer for the dismounted Cavalry storming part.v (Modal).
*•' Lt.Colonel J. J. Bull landed witli the 56th Regt. in the Crimea on the 25th Aug. 1855, and .served at the siege and
fall of Sobastcpol, and was present at the final assault (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
•" Lt.Colonel A. W. D. Burton served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, and commanded the 5th Dragoon Guards
at the battles of Balaklava, Inkerman, and Tchernaya, and siege of Sobastopol (Medal with three Clasps, Brevet of
Major, CB.. 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
'<> Lt.Coloncl Cadell served at the siege of Copenhagen in 1807 ; with the expedition to Sweden, and afterward to
the Peninsula, including the battle of Corunnn,; with the expedition to Walc-herenin 1809 ; the Peninsular cam¬
paigns from i8ti to the end of that war in 1814, including the following battles, sieges, &c., viz.:—Barrosa (slightlj'
wounded), Cadiz, Arroya do Molino, Almaraz (reduction of forts), Vittoria, Pyrenees (25th to 31st July), Nivelle,
Nive, St. Palais, Orthes, and Toulouse (War Medal with eight Clasps). Served also the campaign of 1815, and was
present at the battle of Waterloo.
5' Lt.Colonel Calcott served with the loth Regiment during the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the whole
of the siege operations before Mooltau, the action at Soorjkoond, capture of the suburbs, and surrender of the
fortress on the 22nd January 1849 ; also present at the buttle of Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps). Served also as
a Staff Officer under Major General Storks, commanding on the Bosphorus during the Russian war in 1855-56.
