' Mr. J. S. Robertson served as Purveyor in Chief with the Army in Turkey and the Crimea in 1855-56 (Crimean
and Turkish Medals).
- Mr. Routh has the Medal for the Kaffir war.
^ Mr. J. B. Lundy served at the siege of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
* Mr. H. Moore served in the Crimea from April 1855 (Medal with Clasp for Sebantop )1, and Turkish Medal).
5 Mr. C. Palmer served in the Kaffir war (Medal). Also in the Crimea (Medal with Clasp for Sebastopol, and
Turkish Modal).
8 Mr. Gem served with the Army in Turkey and the Crimea in 1854-56 (Crimean and Turkish Medals).
' Mr. Lindsey has received the Turkish War Medal. Served at the Gambia in 1855, when the stockaded town of
Sabagee was taken and destroyed.
* Lt.Colonel Shervinton served in the 46th Regt. throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the
battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkermau, sortie of the 26th Oct., siege and fall of Sebastopol. Having served
uninterruptedly throughout the siege he was appointed to the Staff at Balaklava, and subseciuently to the com¬
mand of the ist Battalion Land Transport Corps (Medal with four Clasps, Brevetof Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie,
and Turkish Medal).
^ Mr. Swan was Senior Commissariat Officer in Canada West in June 1866, when the Fenians invaded the
Province, and served in Commissariat charge of the Field Force on the Niagara frontier on that occasion.
'" Mr. Thompson was present at the battle of Alma and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, and
Turkish Medal). Relieved D.A.C. General Hunter in Commissariat charge in Quinh, AVestern Africa, and present
at the storming and destruction of the stockades and war fence at Madonkia on 19th Dec, capture and destruction
of the stockades at Madonkia on the night of the 27th Dec, of the Fetish town of Robea on 28th December 1861,
and accompanied the expedition up the Ribbie river on 17th January 1862.
12 Mr. Des Barres served with the late Turkish Contingent at Ke'rtch, and has received the Turkish War Medal
for the Crimen.
1^ Mr. J. T. Johnston served as a Cornet In the Turkish Contingent Cavalry during the Crimean war in 1855
(Medal). Served as a Deputy Assistant Commissary General in the New Zealand war from 1863 to the end
(Medal).
1* Mr. Mellish served on the Red River Expedition of 1870 and had Control charge of the Hudson Bay Post, Fort
Frances, during August and September. Served in the Ashanti war under Sir Garnet Wolseley (Medal).
^'^ Mr. W. H. Newland served in the New Zealand war of 1861 and 1863-66, taking part in the Waikato, Taranakl,
and Wanganui operations (Medal).
"■ Mr. Ravenscrol't accompanied Sir Garnet Wolseley to the Gold Coast in September 1873, and served through¬
out the Ashanti war of 1873-74, including the battle of Amoaful and capture of Coomassie (mentioned in de¬
spatches, promoted Commissary, Medal with Clasp).
1' Mr. R. G. D. Selby served in the Crimea from 24th Jan. to April 1855 (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
1^ Mr. Knapp served in the Eastern campaign from January 1855 (TurkishMedal). Also throughout the China
war from 1857 to i860, and was present at the action of Sinho, taking of Tangku, capture of the Taku Forts,[and
surrender of Pekin (Medal).
-" Mr. Acheson served in New Zealand during the wars of 1860-61 and 1863-65, and was present at the relief of
and repulse of the night attack on No. 3 Redoubt on 23rd Jan. 1861, and in every action in which the 65th Regt.
was engaged in the war of 1860-61 (ifedal).
^1 Mr. Devine served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, in the Royal Artillery and Tnrkish Contingent, including^
the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, sortie of 26th Oct., attacks of the Rednn on i8th June and 8th Sept.,
siege and fall of Sebastopol, and capture of Kinbourn (Medal with four Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and
Turkish Medal). Served in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, and was attached to the gth Lancers at the advance on
the Dilkoosha and La Martiniere and throughout the operations resulting in the relief of Lucknow Ijy Lord Clyde;
present during the occupation of the Alumbaghunder Outrara with the several engagements there, failofLucknow,
relief of Azimghur, capture of Jugdespore, and affair near Reotee; served with the Siiahabad Field Force, and pre¬
sent in action on 14th 17th 20th 21st and 23rd Oct. 1858 (Medal with two Clisps, and a year's service for Lucknow).
2^ Mr. Edridgo served in the Ashanti war under Sir Garnet Wolseley (Medal).
23 Mr. Irving served with the 4th Regt. throughout the Abyssinian campaign in 1868, and was present at the
action of Arogee and capture of Magdala.
2= Mr. F. W! Lundy served in the Ashanti war under Sir Garnet Wolseley and was in charge of Convoy attacked
by Ashantis on 31st January 1874 (Medal with Clasp).
2^ Captain Power served in the Commissariat throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, and was present at the
siege and fall of Sebastopol (Crimean and Turkish Medals).
.28 Major W. W. Thelwall served with the 3rd Hussars throughout the Punjaub campaign of i84S-49,and was pre¬
sent at the affair of Ramuuggur, passage of the Chenab, and battles of Sadoolapore, Chillianwallah, and Goojerat
(Medal with two Clasps).
