^<^ Captain W. Leir served with the Military Train in New Zealand from 1863 to 1867 acting as Light Cavalry
during the Wanganui campaign of 1865-66 (Medal).
^7 Captain F. L G. Little commanded a Deta,chmeut of Royal Artillery in the expeditionary force against the
Indians of Yucatan iu April and May i86i, and in the suppression of tho di^Jturbances in the Northern Districts.
^' Captain Low served at the siege and capture of Lucknow (Medal with Claspsj.
^ Major M'Carthy served on the Coast of Syria iu 1840 (Medal with Clasp).
™ Captain Maynard served in suppression of the Indian mutiny in 1857-59 (Medal).
^1 Captain Mytton served in the Indian mutiny campaign in 1857-58, including the battles of Sindwaho and
Kurai (Medal).
^2 Captain Owen was wrecked in H.M.S. Maleigh on 14th April 1857. Served in China in 1857-58, was at the destruc¬
tion of Mandarin .junks in Escape and Patsham Creeks, blockade of the Canton river, stonn and capture of the city
(Medal with two Clasps).
3^ Captain Parke served in the Black Sea in the latter part of 1855.
■'^ Captain J. R. Pearson served as Deputy Commissary of Ordnance at Cawnpore during the relief of Luoknow;
also in the same capacity with the Siesre Train in the Rohilcund campaign, and was present at the battle of Bareilly,
action of Shahjehanpore and capture of Mohuradee (mentioned in despatches. Medal).
^^ Captain Pitman served in the Baltic in July and August 1854 (Medal), and subsequently in 1854 before Sebas-
topol until its fall, and was in command of a Mortar iu the flotilla employed during the siege, occupation of the Sea
of Azof, bombardment of Taganrog, and destruction of ships, stores, &c., there, also at Marioupol and other towns
on the coast where he was landed, was in the mortar flotilla at the bombardment and surrender of Kinbourn (Medal
with two Clas])S, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5thClass of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Senred the Chinese
campaign of i860 (Medal).
3' Captain A. S. Reynolds served in the latter part of the Zulu war of 1879 with the Native Carrier Corps
(Medal with Clasp).
2* Captain Small served with the Baltic expedition in 1855 (Medal). He commanded the Launch of H.M.S. Esk in
action at the capture of a Mandarin junk and a Snake-boat, the former of which was set on tire and destroyed, the
latter brought off under a heavy flre from an armed village, in a branch of the Canton river on the 6th Jul.v 1857,
was employed in the blockade of the river and subsequent operations until the close of the campaign of i860 (Medal
with Clasp). Was also engaged on two separate occasions at the taking of many piratical vessels in 1859 and i860.
*o Captain Stark served with the Baltic expedition in 1855, including the bombardment of Sweaborg (Medal).
*^ Ca|)tain P. Thompson served in suppression of the Indian mutiny, including the siege and capture of Delhi
(severely wounded), siege and capture of Lucknow, and battle of Bareill.y (Medal with two Clasps).
** Captain Henry Varto served the campaign in Syria in 1840 at D'Jouni, and bombardment of Acre ("War Medal
with one Clasp, and the Turkish Medal). Served with the Baltic expedition in July and August 1854 (Medal).
*' Captain Henderson Ward served in the China expedition of 1857-58, including the blockade of the Canton river,
the landing before and capture of Canton (Medal with Clasp).
^ Captain James Wood served from 1812 to 1815 at the Texel, Flushing, Cherbourg, Basque Roads, North Coast of
Spain and San Sebastian. During the war he served also in the West Indies, St. Helena, and Madeira.
*' C?.ptain J. Y. Worthington served throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-49, including the siege of Mooltan
and battle of Goojerat—horse shot (Medal with two Clasps).
