' General Malcolm served on the first China expedition (Medal, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, and CB.).
- General Errington served with the 51st Light Infantry during the war in Burmah from April to Dec. 1852 ;
was on board the E.I.C. steam-sloop Sesostris during the naval action and destruction of the enemy's stockades
on the Itangoon River; served during the succeeding three days' operations in the vicinity, and commanded the
Regiment at the storm and capture of Rangoon; he also commanded the troops engaged at the assault. a,ud cHptAiro
of Bassein, igth'May (wounded), and received the especial unprobation of the Governor General in Council for his
services upon this occasion (Medal with Clasp for Pegu, and Brevet of Lt.Colonel).
^ Colonel Acton served with the 51st Light Infantry in Burmah from Feb. 1853 to the end of the war. and was
present with Captain Irby's Detachment of four Companies with Brigadier General Cheape's Force during the
whole 0! the successful operations in the Monabew district, ending in the assault and capture, on the 19th March
1853, of ■>;he stronghold of the Burmese chief Dyattoon (Medal with Clasp for Pegu).
* Lt.Colonel Burnabj', Majors Nugent and Grceme served with the 51st Light Infantry in the Umbeyla expedi¬
tion in i£63. Also served in the Jowaki campaign in 1877 (Medal with Clasp).

' Major Huskisson served with the 70th Regiment in the New Zealand war of 1863-65 in the provinces of Waikato,
Taranaki, and Wanganui (Medal).
^ Captain Hilliard served with the Expeditionary Field Force under Colonel J. R. Mackenzie in Arabia from the
27th October to the 20th December 1873, including the investment, surrender, occupation, and destruction of the
Fort at Al-Hota, and subsecjuent march to Zaida in pursuit of Ally Bin Mana, the chief of Houshabi.
^ Captain Smj'th served in the Transport Deiiartment on the Red River Expedition from Canada of 1S70. Served
with tlu- 51st Light Infantry in the Jowaki campaign in 1877 (Medal with Clasp).

1 General Perceval commanded the Reserve Battalion of the 12th Regiment in the Kaffir War of 1832-53, and for
his services was nominated a CB. (Medal).
'■' The Hon. Sir Francis Colborne served in Canada in suppression of the rebellion in 1838 39, and was present
in the action of St. Eustache. Served throughout the Kastern campaign of 1854-35, as Assistant Quarter Master
General to the 3rd Division, including the battles of Alma, Bala,klava, and Inkcrman, siege and fall of Sebastopol.
(Medal with four Clasps, Brevet of Lt.Golonel, CB., Knight of the Legion of Honor, sih Class of the Medjidie,,
Sardinian and Turkish Medals). Commanded the Pcrak expedition in 1875-76 (Medal with Clasp).
3 Lt,(.!olouel Browne served with the 97th Regiment in the Crimea from 4th May 1855, including the siege and'
fall of Sebastopol, and was on the storming party at the assault on the Redan on the 8th Seiitembet—wounded,
and mentioned in despatches for " distinguished conduct" (Medal with Clasp, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, and
5th Class of the Medjidie). Served also in Bengal in suppressing the mutiny in 1857-58. with the Jounpore Field
Force in the actions of Nusrutpore, Chan3a, Ummeerpore, and Sultanpore, afterwards at the siege and cajiture of
Lucknow and storming of the Kaisarbagh (Medal with Clasp).
•* Lt.C .lonel Fylor served the Eastern campaign of 1834-55, including the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege
and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Present during the latter part of the New
Zealand campaign (Medal).
= Lt.Coloncl Safford served with the 9-th Regiment in Bengaliu suppressing the mutiny in 1857-5B—with the Joun¬
pore Field Force m the actions of Chanda, Ummeerpore, and Sultanpore, afterwards at the siege and capture of
Lucknow (Medal with Clu.sp).
« Lt.Colonel Doran served with the 50th Regiment in the Crimea from 22nd Nov. 1854, including the siege and fall
of Seliastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also the several campaigns in New Zealand from 15th
Nov, 1863 to 1866, and was present at Waiari (meuti(med in despatches), the storm and capture of Rangiawhia,
repulse ol the enemy's attack on the Camp at Nukumaru, and the affair of Kakaramea (Medal).
5 Lt.Colonel Leach served in the soth Regiment in the Crimea, subsequent to the fall of Sebastopol, from the igtb
September 1855 until the evacuation on i2tli July 1856. Served also in the New Zealand war of 1863-66 as Orderly
Ollicer to Colonel Waddy when commanding a Field Force in the Waikato in 1864 ; present at VVaiari; appointed
Airte do Ciimp to Brigadier General Waddy 7th Jan. 1865 ; and present at the attack and repulse of the enemy at
Nukumaru (mentioned in despatches); appointed Deputy Assistant Adjutant General 26th Jan. 1865, and present
Kt the repulse ol the enemy at Kakaramea (mentioned), and served throughout the campaign Wanganui district
■umder Sir D. Cameron. Accompanied Major General Chute as D.A. Adjutant General during his campaign on
the West Coast in 1P65-66, and nresent at the assault and capture of Oka!tuku, Putahi, Otapawa, Ketemari, and;
Waikoko I'ah (mentioned in despatches. Brevet of Major, and Medal).
1" Captain Smith was promot d Captain in the 97th Regiment " in recognition of his gallant services when en¬
gaged agamst the Indians at Orange Walk, British Honduras" on the 1st September 1872, on which occasion he
commanded a detachment of the ist West India Regiment and was dangerously wounded by a musket-ball in the
breast.
