' Sir Thomas Reed served the campaign nf 1815, and was present at the battle of Waterloo. In 1846 he com¬
manded a Brigade of t lie Army of the Sutlej, and was wourded and had a horse killed under him at the battle of
Ferozeshah (Medal). Commanded and made the military disposition of the Troops in the Punjaubat the breaking
out of the mutiny in 1S57, which resulted in the tranquillity of that Province and constituting it the base of
operations against Delhi, for which he received the " entire approbation " of the i.'ommander in Chief in India,
and subsequently the acknowledgments of the jovernor General, as well as for his services in command of the
Troops before Delhi (Medal with OJnsp, and KCB.).
' Colonel Hill landed with the 56th Regiment in the Crimea on the 25th Aug. 1855, served in the trenches
at the siege of Sebastopol, and was present at the final assault (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served
also in India during the mutiny in 1858.
* Lt.Colonel Rennie served the campaign of i860 in the north of China, including the action of Sinho, storm
and capture of the Taku Forts Medal with Clasp).
^ Lt.Colonel Huskisson served in the Indian Mutiny campaign with the Bombay Field Force operating in North
Canara and Goa against the Dessai rebels from February to June 185S (Medal). Proceeded on special service to
South Africa in November 1878, and served throughout the Zulu war of 1879 as Commandant and Assiatant
:^uarter Muster General at the base of operations, Durban (Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal).
- '' Lt.Colonel White served with the 50th Regiment in New Zealand from 15th Nov. 1863 to 2nd Oct. 1866 ; led the
storming party at the assault and capture of Raugiawhia (mentioned in despatches), present at the repulse of the
enemy's attack on the Camp at Nukumaru, appointed Aide de Camp to Brigadier General Waddy 26th Jan. 1863,
and served on the Staff to 7th April 1866 (Medal, and Brevet of Major).
' Major Pemberton Pigott served in the Crimea fromist July 1S55, including the siege and fall of SebaHtopol
(Medal with Clasp, and Tui kish Medal). Served as Adjutant of the 44th Reg^m^nt during the campaign of-1860,
in the north of China, including the action of Sinho, taking of Tangku, storm and capture of the Taku Forts
(Medal with Clasp).
^0 Captain Edgcumbe .served with the expeditionaryforce under Brigadier General Harley in British Honduras in
February and March 1867.
13 Captain Tempest served in the Srst Regiment throughout the Indian mutiny in 1857-58 (Medal).

1 General Brownrigg served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 as Assistant Adjutant General, including the
nbttles of Alma and Inkerman and siege of Sebastopol, and was Chief of the Staff to Sir George Brown in the expe¬
dition to Kertch (Medal with three Clasps, CB., Officer of the Legion of Honor, 4th Class of the Medjidie, and
Turkish Medal).
'^ Sir Daniel Lysons served in Canada during the rebellion in 1S38-39, including the actions of St. Denis
(mentioned in despatches) and St. Eustache. Was mentioned in despatches and general orders on the occasion
<jf the wreck of the transport Fremier on 4th November 184 j; promoteii in consequence. Served the Eastern cam¬
paign of 1854-55 ! ^xs present at the battles of Alma (mentioned in despatches) and Inkermaii, the minor afl'airs
ofBnlganiic, M'Kenzie's Farm, capture of Balaklava, and throughout the whole siege of Sebastopol; led the
main Column of attack on the Rediin by the Light Division on the i8th June, and commanded a Brigade in the
latter part of the action (slightly wounded, mentioned in despatches); was enga,ged in the final assault of the
Redan on the 8th September (severely wounded, mentioned in despatches) ; commanded the 2nd Brigade Light
Division from October 1855 to the end of the war (Medal with three Clasps, Brevet of Colonel, CB., Officer of the
Legion of Honour, Sardinian Hnd Turkish Medals, and 3rd Class of the Medjidie).
^ Lt.Colonel Crealock served with the 95th Regiment in the Indian mutiny campaign in 1858, including the siege
a,nd capture of Kotah, battle of Kota ke Serai (wounded), and general action resulting in the capture of G« alior,
eiege and capture of Pourie, and surprise of the rebel camp of Kunrye (Medal with Clasp, and twice mentioned
n despatches). Served throughout the Kafir war of 1878 and the Zulu war of 1879 as Assistant Military Secretary
to Lt.General Lord Chelmi-ford commanding the forces, and was present at the action of Giugindhlovu (slightly
wounded) and rebel of Bkowe, and in the engagement at Ulundi (several times mentioned in despatches. Brevet
of Lt Colonel, CB., Medul with Clasp).
* Lt.Colouel Hayward served with the 45thRegiinont in the A.byssinian campaign in 1868, and was present at the
storming and capture of ilagdala (Medal).
