' General Heyland served with the 95th Regt. in the Eastern Campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of
Alma (severely wounded—arm amputated),'siege and fall of Scbastopol (Medal with two CUsps, Brevet of Lt.
Colonel, CB., "Sardinian and Turkish Medals. 4th Class of the Medjidie).
" Colonel Warren served in the Crimea from loth Jan. 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol and
assault of the i8th June (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
' Colonel Drew served in the Afghan war ot 1878-79, and was present in the engagement in the Kooruni
Valley on the 28th November, 1878, and in command of the ist Brigade at the capture of the Peiwar Kotal on the
2nd December. Commanded the same Brigade in the operations in the Hariab and Khost Valleys, includiii,:^
some minor engagements (mentioned in Major General Roberts's despatches, Modal with Clasp).
■* Lt.Colonel T. P. Cosby served in the Crimea from loth Jan. 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopoi,
and assault of the i8th Juno (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
5 Lt.Colonel Saunders served in the Crimean campaign from loth Jan. 1855 with the 14th Regiment, including
the siege and fall of Sebastopol and assault of the i8th June (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in the
field during the Maori war of 1860-61 (Medal).
' Lt.Colonel Le Mesurier served with the 14th Regiment in the Crimean campaign from 13th Aug. 1855, including
the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
9 Major F. W. Harington served in the New Zealand war of 1863-6=;, including the actions of Kohewa and Gate
Pah (Medal).

' Sir William M'Murdo served as Assistant Quarter Master General of the Armyuuder Sir Charles Napier duriri if
the campaign in Scinde in 1843 (Medal), and was present at the battle of Meeanee—in which his horse was shot
under him—affair with the enemy while conducting Major Stack's Brigade from Muttaree to form a junction,
with Sir Charles Napier's force at Hydrabad; and battle of Hydrabad, where he received a sabre wound in the
right breast. Ho again served as Assist. Quarter Master General to Sir Charles Napier during the campaign
against the Mountain and Desert Tribes situated on the right bank of the Indus, early in 1845. Served as
Assistant Adjutant General Queen's Troops under Sir Charles Napier in 1851-52 in the B.xpedition against the
Affreedies, including the forcing of the Kohat Pass (Medal). Served in the Eastern campaign as Director General
Land Transport Corps (Medal with Clasp for Sebastopol, Officer of the Legion of Honor, 4th Class of the Medjidie,
and Turkish Medal).
3 Lt.Colonel Hallowes served with Brigadier General Gough's Brigade in the Afghan war of 1879-80, and was
present during the march to and subsequent occupation of Cabul, and in tne oiierationa at Jugdulluok (mentioned
in despatches. Medal with Clasp).
s Major Dundas was awarded the Silver Medal of the KoyalHumane Society in February 1865 for saving the lives
of two Marines at Gibraltar.
' Captain Knott served with the Rifle Brigade during the Indian Mutiny campaign of 1857-59, "■iid was present
at the actions of Cawnpore, siege and capture of Lucknow, battle of Nawabgunge, taking of Fort Oomerea,, and
subsequent operations in the Oude campaign (Medal with Clasp). Served in India in the North-West Frontier
campaign of 1863, and was present at the action of Shubkuddir (Medal with Clasp).
' Captain Mellor served with the 33rd Regiment in the Abyssinian campaign of 1867-68 (Medal).
