' Major Abbott served in the Crimea and was present in the action near Eupatoria while attached to the Light
Cavalry Brigade (Crimean and Turkish Medals).
■* Captain Brown served with the i6th Lancers during the campaign in AfiTghanistan under Lord Keane in 1839,
including the siege and capture of Ghuznee (Medal).
^ Major Butler served in the Indian campaign in 1S58-59 ; commanded two guns Royal Horse Artillery in MaUva
Flying Column in purs'oit of rebels under Tantia Topee in Dec. 1858 and January 1859 ; engaged at Zeerapore and
Chupra Baroda (twice mentioned in despatches and thanked by Governor General in Council, Medal).
* Major W. Johnston served in the Eastern campaign in 1854-55, ^.nd was present at the battles of the Alma,
Balaklava, and Inkerman, and at the siege and fall of Sebastopol —slightly wounded (Medal with lour Clasps,
and Turkish Medal).
'■' Captain M'Gee served with the loth Hussars m the Afghan war in 1879, int^ was present in the engagement at
Futtebabad — slightly wounded (Medal). Served in the Soudan Expedition in 1884 with the loth Hussars (Medal,
and Khedive's Star).
1 ' Captain W. Matthews served with the Royal Dragoons during the Ci-imean war, and was present at the battles
of Biilaklava (horse shot under him) and Inkerman, the siege and fall ol Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, and
Turkish Medal).
'* Riding Master Noake served in the Eastern campaign with the Royal Dragoons, and was present at the
battle of Balaklava and at the siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Has also the
Medal for Distinguished Conduct in the Field.
'^ Major Pawsou served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Balaklava, siege and fall of
Sebastopol, capture of Kertch and Yenikale (Medal with two Cla>*ps, and Turkish Medal) . Served with the exx/t
dition to China in 1S60, and was present at Siuho. Tangku, and capture of Taku Forts (Medal with C'a.^p}.
