1 Captain A. C. S. Abdy served with the 2nd Life Guards in the Egyptian war of 1SS2, and was present in the
engagements at El Magfar and Mahsama, in the two actions at Kassasin, and at the battle of Tel-cl-Kebir (Medal
w th Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
'■' Captain T. Acton served with the 53rd Regiment in the Indian campaign of 1857-59, including the action of
Kub)wah (severely wounded), storm and capture of Meangunge, siege and capture of Lucknou-, i-.nrt affair of Koorsie,
passage of the Gobmtee and occupation of Sultanpore; served as Brigade Major at the storm aiid capture of Ram-
pore Cassia, at the passage of the Gogra at F.yzabad on 25th Nov., and minor affaii-.s (rj.entioncd in despatches.
Medal with Clasp).
^ Captain D. Baird served with the 2nd Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment throughout the Egj-ptian
war of 1882, and was present in the engagements at El Magfar and Tel-el- Mahuta, in the two actions at Kassasin,

was present in the reconnaissance in force from Alexandiia on 5th AuKUst, in the engagement at Tel-el-Mahuta,
in the action at Kassasin (9th September), and at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Kbedive's
Star); also served in the Soudan E.xpedition under Sir Gerald Graham in 1884 with the 3rd Battalion King's
Royal Rifle Corps in charge of the Regimental Transport, and was present in the engagements at £1 Teh and
Temai (mentioned in despatches, two Clasps). Served in the Nile E.xpedition in 18S4-S5 with the Mounted
Infantry, and commanded the picked shots who accompanied Lord Charles Beresford up the Nile to the relief of
Sir Charles Wilson when wrecked near Kliartoum (mentioned in despatches. Clasp).
" Captain G. Bramwell served with the Persian Expeditionary Force in 1857, and was present at the bombard-
ment and capture of the forts of Mohumra, and the subsequent pursuit of the Persian army (Medal with Clasp).
Served in pursuit of the rebel army under Tantia Topee in 1858 ; and with a Field Force against the Bheeis and
Mekranies in the Rew.a Kanta in 1859 (commended by the Governor of Bombay).
8 Captain W. Browne served in the Boer war of 1881 with the Natal Field Force. Served with the Burmese
Expedition in 1888-89 (Medal with Clasp.
'^ Captain G. J. BuUer served with the ist Battalion of the 17th Regiment in the Afghan war in 1878-79 with the
ist Division of the Peshawur Valley Field Force, and was present at the attack and capture of Ali Musjid and in
the engagements at Deh Sarak and Futtehabad (Medal with Clasp).
10 Captain F. W. H. D. Butler served with the Chinese Coolie Corps throughout the campaign in the North of China
in i860, and was present at the action of Sinho, storming of Tangku, and actions of the iStliand 21st September (Medal
with two Clasps for the Taku Forts and Pekin). Served with the :;ist I.'egiment during the operations against the Tae-
pings in the vicinity of Shanghai in April and May 1862, resulting in the caking of the stockade of Nanhsiang, capture by
escalade of the walled cities of Kadin.Tsinpoo, and Tsolin, the fortified towns of Najow, and the affair at Nanhsiang.

13 Captain F. S. Chapman served with the Cameron Highlanders in the Egyptian war of 1882 from the landing
at Ismailia, and was present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
I* Captain F. V. S. Churchill served with the Burmese E.xpedition in 1885-86, and was severely wounded in an
engagement at Thaitzinhan (Medal with Clasp).
