^'^~ Colonel C. E. llderton served with the 63ch Light Infantry in the New Zealand war in 1864-66, and was pre-
sent at the attack on the Gate Pah (Medal). Served with the Burmese Expedition in 1886-S8 including the
operations under Sir William Lockhart in the Pynmana, Yemethen and Meiktila districts (mentioned in de-
spatches, DSO., and Medal with two Clasps).
^^ Colonel E. C. Impey was present at the siege and capture of Kotah by the field foice under Major General
Roberts in 1858; after the siege he was attached as Political OiHicer with that force on the march from Kotah to
Neemuch (Medal).
'^' Colonel J. S. Iredell served in the Afghan war in 1879-80, and was present in the engagements at Giriskh
and at Maiwand —severely wounded (Medal).

was present at the affair of the 26th November 1863, in the Wairoa Bush, siege and capture of Orakau, and

Afghan war in 1880 with the Khyber Field Force (Medal).

skirmish before Mundesore ; battle, assault, and capture of Gooraria (severely wounded) ; served with a field force
under Brigadier Hill in the Taptee Valley while in pursuit of Tantia Topee and other rebels (Medal).

"" Colonel E. G. Jenkins was present at the mutiny of the Bengal troops at Nusseerabad on the 28th May 1875
(charger severely wounded whilst charging the guns in possession of the mutineers) ; present at the first attack
on and at the subsequent siege and capture of the fort of Awah ; at the siege assault and capture of Kotah, and
pursuit of the rebels into the Gwalior district ; in the pursuit of the Gwalior rebels under Tantia Topee, and at the
battle of the Bunass (Medal with Clasp).

339 Colonel W. S. Jervis served in suppression of the Indian mutiny, and was present at the defence of Cawnpore
in Nov. 1857, and at the storm and capture of Lucknow (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Indian N.W. Frontier
war of 1B63, and was present at the attack and capture of the Crag Piquet, the Conical Hill, and Dmbeyla (Medal
<with Clasp).

'*' Colonel J. D. Johnstone served with the 33rd Regiment in the Crimea m 1855. including the siege of Sebas-
topol and assault of the Redan on the i8th June (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in the Abj'ssinian
campaign in 1867-68, and was present at the storming and capture of Magdala (mentioned in despatches '' for able
management of native carriage," Medal).
2'^ Colonel J. W. H. Johnstone served in the Indian Mutiny campaign in 1857-58, and was wounded at the attack
on Thanna Bawun m September 1S57 ; "present with Seton's Column at the actions of Gungeree and Patialee, and
reoccupation of Mynpooree; also at the capture of the enemy's entrenched position at Bungaonin April 1858 —
wounded (Medal).
3^ Colonel C. Jolliffe served with the R.M. Brigade in the Crimea in 1854, and in command of a Battery at Baia-
klava ; was attached to the Royal Artillery in the siege train before Sebastopol during the bombardments in 1855,
and at its fall ; was also at the bombardment and surrender of Kinbourn (Medal with Clasp, Knight of the Legion

Watch in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, 4th class of

Watch, and was present in the engagement at El Teb (Brevet of Lt.Coionel, two Clasps). Served in the Nile Ex-

36* Colonel W. H. B. Kingsley served with the 67th Regiment throughout the campaign of 1S60 in China, including
the action of Sinho, taking of Tangku, and severely wounded in the leg at the storming of the inner Taku Fort ; also
