1 Lord Roberts. — For War Services, see under Field Marshals (p. 8, note 7).
2 Colonel R. J. Cooper served with the 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was
present in the engagement at Tel-el-Mahuta and at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp and Khedive's
Sur). Served in the South African war in 1899 as Railway Staff Officer (Medal with two Clasps).
4 Lt. Colonel Proby served with 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards in Egyptian war of 18S2, and was present in the
engagement at Tel-el-Mahuta and at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star.) Served in expedi-
tion to Soudan in 1885 with ist Battalion of Coldstream Guards, and was present in engagement at Hasheen at that near
Tofrek on 24th March, and at destruction of Temai (Clasp).
s Major Morris served in the campaign on the North West Frontier of India with the 3rd Battalion Rifle Brigade in
! ... 18 with the Tocbi Field Force (Medal with Clasp).
< Major G. C. Nugent served in South African war in 1899-1900 on the Staff ; took part in advance on Kimberley
including actions at Belmont, Enslin, Modder River, and Magersfontein ; operations in Orange Free State Feb. to May
1900, including operations at Paardeberg, and actions at Poplar Grove and Driefontein (twice mentioned in despatches,
Medal with two Clasps).
7 The Earl of Kerry served in South African war in 1899-1900. and was present at advance on Kimberley, including
actions at Belmont, Enslin, Modder River, and Magersfontein ; afterwards served on the Staff ; took part in operations
in Orange Free State Feb. to May 1900, including operations at Paardeberg, and actions at Poplar Grove and Driefon-
tein (mentioned in despatches, DSO., Medal with seven Clasps).
