at the battle of Amoaful, in the iffairs of Dah, and the

Served in the Afghan War, 1878-9-80. — With the Kuram
Field Force ; Khost Valley expedition, action at
Matun. With the Kabul Field Force; in the night
attack on rear guard at Zahidtbad, battle of Chara-
siah, and subsequent occupation of Kabul, in the
operations in and around Kabul and Sherpur, and
final repulse. In the march from Kabul to relief of
