I Lieut.General Roberts served with the 28th Regiment throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including
the battles of Alma and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and affair iu the Cemetery on the 18th June (Medal
with three Clasps, Brevet of Major, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
Commanded a detachment of 500 men of the 28th Regt. against the Wagters with the Okamundel Field Force in
1859, including the assault on the Fort of Beyt on the 6th Oct., and siege and occupation of Dwarka; commanded
the reconnaissance on Dwarka from Lt.Colonel Donovan's Force, consisting of 2 field-pieces and 150 men, on the
26th October 1859. Served in the Afghan war in 1879-80 in command of a Brigade of the Kabul Field Force and
in command of the Bala Hissar Fortress till promoted to Major General (Medal),
7 Lt.Colonel Taylor served in the South African war with the 2nd Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, and took
part in the operations in Cape Colony, south of Orange River, 1900, including the action at Rheis; operations in
Orange River Colony, May to 29th November 1900; and in the Transvaal, west of Pretoria, July to 29th
November 1900.
8 Lt.Colonel Wallace served with the Dongola Expeditionary Force under Sir Herbert Kitchener in 1896 in
command of the 15th Egyptian Battalion, including the operations at Hafir (mentioned in despatches, 4th
Class of the Osmanieh, Khedive's Medal with one Clasp, British Medal for services with Dongola Expedi-
tionary Force). Served in the South African war in 1899-1900 with the isttBattalion Gloucestershire Regiment,
and was present in the engagements at Rietfontein and Lombard's Kop, in the operations in the Transvaal, June
1900, land in Orange River Colony, June and July 1900 (Medal with three Clasps).
9 Major Tuffhell served in the South African war with the 2nd Battalion Gloucestershire. Regiment, and took
part in the operations in Cape Colony, south of Orange River, 1900; and in Orange River Colony, May to
29th November 1900.
10 Major French served in the South African war with the 2nd Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, and took
part iu the operations in Cape Colony, south of the Oiange River, 1900 ; in Cape Colony, north of Orange River ;
took part in the relief of Kimberley ; operations in the Orange Free State, February to May 1900, including the
actions at Paardeberg, Poplar Grove, and Driefontein; and operations in Orange River Colony, May to
29th November 1900 (mentioned in despatches).
II Major Bishop served in the South African war in 1899-1900 with the 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment
with the Natal Field Force, including the relief of Ladysmith (Medal with four Clasos).
15 Captain S. Duncan served in the South Alrican war in 1899-1900, and took part in the operations in Natal
in 1899 including the action at Lombard's Kop ; wounded (Medal with three Clasps).
