436 Colonel T. Higginson served on the North-West Frontier of India in the expedition against the Bezotee Tribe
in February 1869, and wasmentioned in despatches and thanked by the Government of India. Served also with
the Meranzie Valley Field Force in April 1S69. Served in the Afghan war in 1878-9 with the Candahar Column,
and was present in the affair at Baghao (mentioned in despatches, Medal). Commanded the 1st Punjab Inlantry
in the Wuzeeree Expedition in i88t.
437 Colonel J. F. F. Cologan served in the Indian Mutiny campaigns of 1857-59, and was present at the
siege and capture of Lucknow in March 1858, siege and capture of Calpee, action of Gowlowlie, attack and
capture of Forts Dehayn and Tiroul, occupation of Bhyspcre, and operations of Brigadier Kelly's Force in the
Azimghur and Goruckpore districts in 1858-59 (Medal with two'Clasps). Served in the Afghan war in 1879-80,
first as Staff Officer and afterwards as Paymaster of the Transport, Khyber Line (mentioned in despatches, received
he thanks of the Imperial Government, Brevet of Lt.Coionel, Medal). Served with the Burmese Expedition in.
1887-88 including the operations of the 3rd and 4th Brigades under Brigadier Generals Collett and Low respec-
tively (Medal with Clasp).
