1 Sir Julius Glyn served as Field Adjutant to the Force under Sir Harry Smith in the action with and defeat
of the rebel Boers at Boem Plaats f horse killed). Served with the Rifle Brigade in the Kaffir war of 1S52-53 (Medal).
Also the Eastern campaign as a Brigade Major and Assistant Adjutant General in the Light Division, including the
battles of Alma and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, Brevets of Major and Lt. Colonel,
Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served the Indian campaigns of
1857-59, including the defeat of the Gwalior Contingent at Cawnpore on 6th December, final capture of Lucknow,,
action at Nawabgunge (commanded Battalion), and subsequent operations (Medal with Clasp, and CB.).
2 Lt. Colonel Lowth served with the 10th Regiment in the Perak Expedition in 1875, and was present when
