I Colonel Drage served in the Zulu war in 1879 (Medal with Clasp). Served with the Nile Expedition in
1884-85 (mentioned in despatches, promoted Chief Paymaster, Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
II Lt.Colonel Ternan served in the Egyptian warof 1882 (Medal, and Khedive's Star).
30 Colonel Roberts served as a Captain ill the 4th Regiment throughout the Abyssinian campaign, and was dan-
gerously wounded — gun-shot wound of left>elbow-joint — at Arogee, in which action he commanded two Companies of
the 4th King's Own, being the Baggage Guard (mentioned in despatches, Medal). Served in the Afghan war ot
1S78-80, and was present at the attack and capture of Ali Musjid (Medal with Clasp).
33 Colonel E. H. Gorges served in the, Kafir war in 1877-7S, including the operations against the Galekas
and Gaikas ; also served in the Zulu war in 1879 (Medal with Clasp).
43 Colonel Barr served with the 53rd Regiment in the Indian campaign of 1858-59, including the passage of
Che Goomtee and occupation of Snltanpore, passage of the Gogra at Fyzabad on 25th November, action of
Toolsepore, and minor aflaiis (Medal). Served in the Afghan war in 1879-80, and took part in the march to
Candahar with the force under Major General Phayre (Medal).
48 Colonel Bateman was attached to the. Royal ArtilleryduringtheoperationsagainsttheTaepingsinthevicinity
of Shanghai from April to Oct. 1862, resulting in the taking 01 the stockade at Nanhsiang, capture by escalade of
the walled cities of Khadin.Tsinpoo, and Tsolin, the fortified town of Najow, affair at Nanhsiang, and second capture
of Khadin. Also served as Assistant Engineer on the survey of the 30 mile circuit round Shanghai, under Lt.Colonel
C. G. Gordon, from 27th Dec. 1S62 to 2nd Feb. 1863. Served throughout the Egyptian war of 1882 in the Treasury-
Chest Office (Medal, and Khedive's Star).
49 Colonel Richmond accompanied Sir Garnet Wolseley to the Gold Coast in September 1873 on special service,
and served throughout the Ashanti war of 1873-74. Commanded the advanced guard of Houssas at the action of
Essaman, and a company of Wood's Regiment at the reconnaissance in force of the 27th November (twice men-
tioned in despatches, promoted to an Unattached Company, Medal with Clasp).
50 Colonel H. M. Compigne served with the expedition to Ashanti under Sir Francis Scott in 1S95 (promoted
Chief Paymaster with honorary rank of Colonel, Star).
32 Colonel Wade served with the 26th Cameroniana in the Abyssinian campaign in 1868 (Medal).
54 Lt.Colonel Broekman served in the Royal Navy in the Baltic during the Russian war in 1854-55 (Medal).
Served in the Zulu war in 1879 (Medal).
56 Colonel W. H. Mortimer served in the Egyptian war of 1S82, and was present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir
(Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
38 Lt.Colonel Gelston served in the Zulu war in 1879, and was present in the engagement at Inyezane and in
Ekowe during the investment (Medal with Clasp). Served with the Egyptian Frontier Field Force in 1S85-86.
• 80 Lt.Colonel Longley served with the 43rd Light Infantry in the New Zealand war of 1864-66, was present at the
actions of Maketu and Te Ranga, and served with the expeditions in the province of Taranaki (mentioned in
despatches, Medal). Served with the 85th Light Infantry in the Afghan war in 1879-80 with the Koorum Division,
including the Zaimusht Expedition (Medal).
61 Lt.Colonel Stockley served in the Zulu war in 1879 (Medal). Served in tho operations in South Africa in 1896
(Medal).
03 Lt.Colonel Fox served with the 1st Battalion Berkshire Regiment throughout the Egyptian war of 1882, and
was present at the surrender of Kafr Dowar (Medal, and Khedive's Star). Served throughout the campaign in
the Eastern Soudan in 1835 as Pa3*master to the 1st Battalion of the Berkshire Regiment (Clasp).
61 Colonel H. W. Phillips served in the Zulu war in 1879 (Medal with Clasp).
