1 General Bradford served m the Eastern campaign of 1854, and up to 9th Feb. 1S55 with the 2nd Battalion "Rifle
Brigade, including the battle of Alma and siege 01' Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, Turkish Medal, and 5th
Class of the Medjidie).
12 Major Tobin served in the Afghan war in 1879-80 with the 23rd Bombay Native Infantry, and was present in
a skirmish at Sii.ari, near Spitungi, South Afghanistan (severely wounded), and in an affair with the Marris in the
Koochali Pass (mentioned in despatches, and received the commendations of the Government and the Commander
in Chief in India, Medal).
13 Major Adye served in the Afghan war in 1879-80, took part in the defence of Candahar, and was present in
the sortie of Deh Khojah and at the battle of Candahar (Medal with Clasp). Served in the Boer war in 1881.
14 Major J. S. Brown served in the Alghan war in 1880, and took part in the march from Quetta to the relief off
Candahar (Medal). Served in. the Boer war of 1881 with the Natal Field Force.
lb Major Welman served in the Zulu war in 1879 (Medal with Clasp).
16 Captain O'Leary served with the Dongola Expeditionary Force under Sir Herbert Kitchener in 189?,
including the engagement at Firket and the operations at Ha&r (4th Cla-;s of the Osmanieh, Khedive's Medal
with two Clasps).
17 Captain M'Whinnie served in the operations near Suakin in December 188S, including the engagement afe
Gemaizah (Medal with Clasp, 4th Class of the Medjidie, and Khedive's Star).
18 Captain Fox-Strangways served in the operations in the Soudan in i3S8, including the engagement at
Gemaizah (Medal with Cla^p, and Khedive's Star).
19 Major Festing served in the Niger Soudan campaign under Major Arnold in 1897 as Adjutant to the force,
including the expeditions to Egbon, Bida, and Ilorin (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal with
Clasp).
