1 The Duke of Cambridge commanded the 1st Division of the Eastern Army throughout the campaign of 1854
including the battles of the Alma, balaklava, and Inkeru an (hoi se shot), and siege of Sebastopol (mentioned in
despatches, received tho thanks of the House of Commons, Medal with four Clasps, and Turkish Medal).
2 Sir George Willis served uninterruptedly throughout the Eastern campaign from April 1S54 to July 1856 ;— with
the 77th Regt. until May 1855, after which as D.A.Q.M. General at Hef.d Quarters, and as A. Q.M. General of the 4th
Division ; was present a.t the affairs on the Bulganac and at Balaklava, battles of Alma and Inkerman, assault of
fche Quarries, attack of the Redan on 18th June, battle of Tchernaya. final assault of the Redan on 8th Sept., and
served for upwards of seven months in the Trenches, including the repulse of several sorties, and was frequently
in command in the advance Trenches, Medal with three Clasps, Brevets of Major and Lt.Colonel, Grand Officer of
the Legion of Honor, Sardinian and Turkish Medals, tnd 5th Class of the Medjidie). Served in the Egyptian war
ol 1882 in command of the 1st Division and was present at the engagements of El Magfar, Tel-el-Mahnta, and
Kassasin (9th Sept.), and in the battle cf Tel-el-Kebir— slightly wounded (five times mentioned in despatches,
received the thanks of both Houses of Parliament, KCB., Medal with Clasp, 2nd Class of the Osmanieh, and
Khedive's Star).
9 Lt.Colonel Hill served with the 57th Regiment in 1he Zulu war of 1879, and was present at the action of Gin-
gindhlovu and the relief of Ekowe. and throughout the operations of " Clarke's Column " (Medal with Clasp).
10 Lt.Colonel AVhite served with the 57th Regiment in the Zulu war of 1879, and was present at the action ot Gin-
gindhlovu and the rehej of Ekowe, and throughout tne operations of "Clarke's Col mm" (Medal with Clasp).
Served during the operations in South Africa in 1S96 un the Lines of Communication, and commanded the
Reserve (Imperial Contingent) at Mafeking (Medal).
13 Majors Beliefs, Longe, am! Scott-Moncriefi served with the 57th Regiment in the Zulu war of 1879, and
were present at the action of Gingindhlovu and relief of Ekowe, and throughout the operations of " Clarke's
Column " (Medal with Clasp).
14 Major Blake served in the latter part of the Zulu war of 1879, first with the 57th Regiment and afterwards
as Garrison Adjutant at Fort Pearson (Medal with Clasp).
24 Captain Harvest served in the Burmese Expedition in 1886-87 with the 23rd Madras Native Infantry (Medal
with Clasp).
25 Captain Norie served with the Chin-Lushai Expeditionary Force in 1889-90 in charge of the Intelligence De-
partment (mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp). Served with the Chitral Relief Force under Sir Robert
Low in 1895 as Signalling Officer (Medal with Clasp).
26 Captain Stephenson served in the operations m South Africa in 1S90 on the Lines of Communication a
Mafeking (Medal).
27 Captain Hayes served with the Hazara Expedition in 1891 as Brigade Transport Officer (Medal with Clasp).
25 Captain Ross served during the operations in South Africa in 1896 on the lines of communication at Mafeking
<Medal).
29 Second L'eut. M'Key served with the Dongola Expeditionary Force under Sir Herbert Kitchener in 1896,
including the engagement at Firket and the opeiations at Hafir (promoted to be Second Lieutenant, Khedive's
Medal with two Clasps).
30 Lieut. Daw served in the Zulu war in 1879 (Medal with Clasp).
