his services was nominated a CB. (Medal).

1897-98 with the Mohmand Field Force as Assistant Superintendent of Army Signalling including the engage-
ment at the Badmanai Pass (mentioned in despatches), and with the Tirah Expeditionary Force in the same
capacity, including the capture of the Sampagha and Arhanga Passes (mentioned in despatches, Medal with two
Clasps).
