1 Lieut. General Stapylton served in th? 13th Light Infantry the campaigns of 1840 and 42 in Afghanistan, and was
present at the storming of the Khoord Cabool Pass, affair of Tezeen, forcing the Jugdulluck Pass, reduction of
the fort of Mamoo Khayl, heroic defence of Jellalabad, and sorties on 14th Nov. and 1st Dec. 1841, nth March,
24th March, and 1st April 1842; the general action with defeat of the besieging force under Akbar Khan before
Jellalabad on the 7th April, the storming of the Jugdulluck heights, general action at Tezeen, and recapture of
Cabool, for which he has a Medal, as also for Jellalabad.
2 Colonel Collins served in the Burmese Expedition in 1886-89 with the 2nd Battalion Queen's Royal West
Surrey Regiment under Brigadier Generals Lockhart and Collett, part of the time in command of a Company of
Mounted Infantry (Medal with two Clasps).
p. 4 Lt.Colonel E. 0. F. Hamilton served in the A f ghan war in 1879-80, and took parfin the defence of Candahar as
Aide de Camp to Lieut.General Primrose, and was present in the sortie of Deh Khojah (mentioned in despatches.
Medal with Clasp). Served in the Burmese Expedition in 13S3-87 with the 2nd Battalion Queen's Royal West
Surrey Regiment, and from April to August 1887 as Brigade Major to the 3rd Brigade (Medal with Clasp) ; served
with the Hazara Expedition in 1891 as Superintendent of Signalling (mentioned in despatches. Clasp).
14 Major Robson served in the Burmese Expedition with the 2nd Battalion Queen's Royal West Surrey Regi-
ment under Brigadier General Lockhart j was Station Staff Officer at Pyinmana from November 1886 to August
1887 (Medal with Clasp).
16 Lt.ColonelPink served in the Afghan war in 1879-80 as Officiating Sub-Assistant Commissary General on the
Khyber Line (Medal). Served with the Burmese Expedition in 1886-89 as Orderly Officer to Brigadier General
Lockhart, and as Deputy Assistant Adjutant and Quarter Master General to the 3rd Brigade (mentioned in
despatches, JDSO., and Medal with two Clasp? ). Served with the Dongola Expeditionary Force under Sir Herbert
Kitchener in 1896 with the 3rd Soudanese Battalion, including the engagement at Firket and the operations at
Hafir (mentioned in despatches, Khedive's Medal with two Clasps).
18 Major H. I. W. Hamilton served in the Burmese Expedition in 1885-87 as Adjutant of the 2ndBattalion Queen's
Royal West Surrey Regiment under Brigadier General Lockhart (Medal with Clasp).
