1 Lt. General Tower served with the 6th Dragoons the Eastern campaign of 1854, including the battle of
Balaklava and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Commanded the 3rd Dragoon
Guards during the Abyssinian campaign in 1868, and was present at the assault and capture of Magdala (men-
tioned in despatches, CB., and Medal).
2 Lt.Colonel de Burgh served with the 7th Dragoon Guards in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present as
Adjutant in the engagements of El Magfar and Mahsama, in the two actions at Kassatin, and at the battle of
Tel-el-Kebir and the capture of Cairo (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
* Major Aspinwall served with the 7th Dragoon Guards in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present in the
engagements of El Magfar and Mahsama, in the action at Kassasin on the 28th August, and at the battle of Tel-el-
Kebir and the capture of Cairo (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
5 Captain Nolan served in the operations in Matabeleland in 1893-94 (Medal).
6 Captain Robertson served with the Chitral Relief Force under Sir Robert Low in 1895 as Intelligence Officer
(mentioned in despatches, DSO. and Medal with Clasp).
" Major Arnold served in the Niger-Soudan campaisn in 1896-97 in command of the force, including the
expeditions to Egbon, Bida and Ilorin (received the thanks of the Governor and the "high appreciation of Her
Majesty's Government of the manner in which the campaign was organized and carried out;" promoted to bo
Captain, DSO. and Medal with Clasp).
