67 Major Cannon served with the 97th Regiment in the Crimea from 20th Nov. 1854 to 14th June 1855, including the
siege of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal) .
68 Major Carey served with the 63rd Regiment the Eastern campaign of 1854, and up to July 1855, including ths
battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, Brevet of Major, and
Turkish Medal) .
70 Major W. H. Carleton served with the 21st Fusiliers throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the
battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, attack of the Redan on i8tli June, and ex-
pedition to Kinbourn (Medal with four Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, and Turkish Medal).
71 Major A. Carlisle served with the 60th Rifles from 12th Nov. 1857 against the mutineers in India, including the
i operations at Cawnpore on 26th 27th and 28th November, and its defence till the defeat of the Gwalior mutineers
on 6th December, and action of Kallee Nuddee ; campaign in Rohilcund, including the actions of Bngawalla and
Nugena, relief of Moradabad, action on the Dojura, assault and capture of Bareilly, attack and bombardment of
Shajehanpore, defeat of the rebels and relief of the garrison, capture of the Fort of Bunnai, pursuit of the enemy
to the left bank of the Goomtee, and destruction of the Fort of Mahomdee, attack on and destruction of Shahabad,
and action of Bungkagong ; Oude campaign in 1858, including the actions of Pusgaon and Rissulpore, attack and
capture of the Fort of Mittowlie, and action of Biswah (Medal).
73 Major F. P. Cassidy served with the 34th Regiment in the Indian Mutiny campaign and was present in the ac-
tions at Cawnpore on the 26th 27th and 28th (wounded) Nov. 1857 (Brevet of Major, and Medal).
73 Major F. Y. Cassidy served with the 31st Regiment in the Crimea from 22nd May 1855, and was present at the
I siege and fall of Sebastopol and attacks of the Redan on the iSth June and 8th Sept. (Medal with Clasp, and
Turkish Medal.) Served throughout the campaign in the north of China in i860, including the action of Sinho and
storming of Tangku (Medal with Clasp for the Taku Forts) . Also during the operations against the Taepings in
the vioinity of Shanghai in April and May 1862, resulting in the taking of the stockade at Nanhsiang, capture by
escalade of the walled cities of Kadin, Tsinpoo, Tsolin, and the fortified town of Najow, affair at Nanhsiang, and
in command of a Detachment of 100 men at relief of Tsinnoo.
74 Major Cay served in the New Zealand war of 1863-65, and commanded Detachments of 65th and 70th Regiments
a^t the storming of Rangiawhia ; also commanded Detachment 70th Regiment at the siege and capture of Orakau
and other operations (twice mentioned in despatches). Was specially mentioned for the very gallant manner in
which he rushed upon the enemy's position of Okea near Warea on the 2nd August 1865 (Brevet of Major, and Medal) .
74 t Major W. E. Chapman served with the 18th Royal Irish in the New Zealand war of 1863-66 (Medal).
75 Major C. Clapcott served with the 32nd Regt. at the first and second siege operations before Mooltan, in-
cluding the attack of the enemy's position in front of the advanced trenches on the 12th Sept. 1848, the action of
Soorjkoond, storm and capture of the city, and surrender of the fortress. Also present at the surrender of the fort
and garrison of Cheniote, and at the battle of Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps).
' ,e Major J. G. Clarke served with the 46th Regt. in the Crimea from the nth July 1855, including the siege and
fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
77 Major Clifford served with the 10th Regt. in the Punjaub campaign in 1849, and was present at the battle of
Goojerat (Medal with Clasp).
78 Major Clowes served the Eastern campaign of 185 with the 8th Hussars, including the battles of Alma and
Balaklava, affairs of Bulganak and M'Kenzie's Farm, and siege of Sebastopol : was wounded and taken a prisoner
and horse shot at the battle of Balaklava (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Served in Rajpootana in
T858-59, was present at the capture of Kotah, battle of Kotaria, and commanded a Detachment of the 8th Hussars
an Brigadier Parkes' long pursuit of the rebels and at their defeat at Chota Oodeypore (mentioned in despatches,
Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).
79 Major T. Hugh Cockburn joined the Central India Field Force at Jhansi, and was appointed Aide de Camp to
Sir Hugh Rose, was present at the action at Koonch, those in front of and capture of Calpee, and recapture of
Gwalior (twice mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).
83 Major T. G. Coote served with the 83rd Regiment in suppressing the Indian mutiny and was present at the
a,ffair of Sanganeer, and defeat of the Gwalior rebels at Kotaria on the 14th Aug. 1858 (Medal with Clasp for Cen-
tral India). Served with the 26th Cameronians in the Abyssinian campaign in 1868 (Medal).
84 Major R. Coupe served with the 15th Regiment in Canada during the rebellion in 1837-38, including the advance
upon. Napierville, and subsequent pursuit of the insurgents. Also served with a detachment of the 15th Regiment,
defeating the insurgents during the suppression of the rebellion in the Kandian Provinces, Ceylon, in 1848.
87 Major Croker served as Assistant Quarter Master General in the action at Zorapore near Kurnool on the 28th
October 1839 ; and also in a like capacity in the action at Makarajpore, 29th December 1843 (Bronze Star).
88 Major Crosse served in the Eastern campaign of 1854 with the 88th Regiment, including the battles of Alma and
Inkerman (severely wounded), and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, Brevet of Major, and Turkish
Medal). Served in the Indian Mutiny campaign in 1858, including the siege of Lucknow in March, and siege of
Calpee (Medal with Clasp for Central India) .
89 Sir Charles Wheeler Cuffe served as 2nd Assistant Adjutant General on Lord Clyde's Staff during the campaign
in Oude in 1858 and part of 1859, and was present in the actions of Doondiakeria, Mugedia, and the Raptee (Medal,
and Brevet of Major).
91 Major Hon. W. H. Curzon served with the 17th Lancers in the Crimea from 13th July 1855. including the battle
of the Tchernaya, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Also the campaign of
1858-59 in Central India, including the action ol Burode (Medal).
92 Major J. Cnsack served with the 97th Regiment in the Crimean campaign of 1354-55, including t,he siege and fall
■of Sebastopol, taking of the Quarries, and storming of the Redan on the 18th June and 8th Sept. — wounded (Medal
■with Clasp, Medal for Distinguished Conduct in the Field, and Turkish Medal).
93 Major H. S. Dalbiac served in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir —
severely wounded (meutioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp, 4th Class of the Medjidie, and Khedive's Star).
94 Major Dalrymple served in the Boer war of 1881 with the Natal Field Force.
95 Major Dartnell served in the 86th Regiment with the Central India Field Force in 1857, and was present at the
fltorm and capture of Chundaree, and led the only successful escalade attack on the fortress of Jhansi — severely
wounded, mentioned in despatches (Medal with Clasp, and Brevet of Major). Served in the Bhootan expedition in
1E65 as Aide de Camp to Major General Tombs, and was present at the recapture of Dewangiri.
96 Major W. A. Daubeny served the campaign of i860 in China (Medal with Clasp for the Taku Forts).
97 Major A. Davies commanded a Detachment 74th Highlanders at the destruction of a band of insurgent Moplas
on the 17th Sept. 1855 at Murroon in Malabar. Served in the Southern Mahratta Country in 1858, and commanded
the Infantry of the force at the capture of the town and Fort of Nurgoond (mentioned in despatch, Medal).
98 Major Dennis served with the 95th Regiment in the Crimea from the 21st Feb. 1S55, including the siege and fall
of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
99 Major C. L. C. de Robeck served with the 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles in the Afghan war from October 1878 to
September 1879, and took part in the advance on and occupation of Candahar and Khelat-i-Ghilzie (Medal).

102 Major Drage served in China during the war of 1857-58 with the 59th Regiment, was present during the occu-
pation of Canton from March 1858, and accompanied the expedition to the Peiho river (Medal) .

cattle of Budlee ke Serai ; commanded the Grenadier Company at the assault of Delhi and ultimately the Regiment ;
accompanied Colonel Greathed's pursuing Column, and was present at the affairs of Allyghur and Akbarabad and
"battles of Bohmdshuhur and Agra ; served in the advance into Oude under Sir Colin Campbell, and on the relief of
the Garrison of Lucknow remained with General Outram's Force at Alumbagh, and took part in the several repulses
of the enemy (Medal with two Clasps, and Brevet of Major).
10 * Major Dunbar served with the Buffs in the Crimean campaign from 1st May 1855, including the siege and fall
of Sebastopol and assault of the Redan on the 8th September — wounded (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
105 Major Dundas served with the 12th Regiment in the Kaffir war of 1852-53 (Medal).
106 Major C. D. C. Ellis served with the 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles in the Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal). Was D.A.Q.M.
