289 Lt.ColonelA. J. Ogilvie served with the Seetabuldee combined Field Force during the mutiny in June 1857, and
with the Kamptee Flying Column from 9th Nov. to 31st Dec. 1858 (Medal).
2.0 Lt.ColonelA. Oldham served in the Bhootan war in 1864-65 with the 12th Kelat-i-Ghilzie Regiment, and
was present at the capture of Stockades in the Goorgaon Pans and at the recapture of Dewangiri (Medal with
Clasp). Served in the Afghan war in 1878-79 with the 12th Kelat-i-Ghilzie Regiment including the advance to
Candahar (Medal). Served in the Burmese war in 1886-87 with the 12th Kelat-i-Ghilzie Regiment (Clasp).
291 Lt.Colonel W. O'Malley served with the 71st Highlanders in the Crimean campaign from 13th Feb. 1855,
including the siege and fall of Sebastopol, expedition to Kertch, destruction of and affairs at Taman (Medal with
Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in the Central India campaign in 1858, including the battle of Kotakeserai
and recapture of Gwalior (Medal with Clasp).
893 Lt.Colonel H. W. L. Paddon served in the 7th Fusiliers in the Indian N.W. Frontier war of 1863 with the
Eusofzye Field Force, present at the defence of the Sungahs at the Umbeyla Pass and at the attack on and storm-
ing of the Conical Hill and destruction of Lalloo on the 15th Dec, also in the action at Umbeyla and destruction of
the village at the foot of the Bonair Pass on 16th Dec. which ended in the complete rout of the enemy and the sub-
mission of the hill tribes on 17th Dec. (Medal with Clasp).
2.1 .Lt.Colonel W. H. Parker served with the 17th Regiment in the Crimea from the 6th Sept. 1855, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol, and was wounded at the assault of the Redan on the Sth Sept. 1853 ; was a l so present
at the bombardment and surrender of Kinbourn (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
=9i Lt.Colonel G. J. Parkyn served in the Soudan campaign in 1885 (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
206 Lt.Colonel R. C. Parry served in suppression of the mutiny in Bengal in 1837-58, including the action
of Soorajpore, defence of the Alumbagh under Colonel M'Intyre, relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, occupation of
the Alumbagh under Outram, capture of Lucknow, campaign of 1858 in Oude with passage of the Goomtee and
other minor affairs (Medal with two Clasps, and a year's service for Lucknow).
297 Lt.Colonel R. Parsons was present with two companies of the 35th Regiment at the attack on Jugdespore
and retreat into Arrah on 23rd April 1858, also at various affairs in the Shahabad district, including the dispersion
of fhe rebels from Jugdespore on 18th October, their pursuit into the Kymoor Hills and night attack at Sulya
Dehar (Medal). [See also Civil Decorations for Gallantry, p. 786.]
298 Lt.Colonel W. Patterson served with the 32nd Regiment in the 1st and 2nd siege operations before Mooltan,
including the storm and capture of the city; he was also present at the surrender of the fort and garrison of
Cheniote, and at the battle of Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps). Served also on the North-West Frontier of
India (Medal).
299 Lt.Colonel A. E. Pearse served in the Abyssinian campaign in 1868 (mentioned in despatches for "ability,
energy, and zeal," Medal).
300 Lt.Colonel R. W. Peckitt served with the 2nd Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment in the Egyptian war
of 1882, and was present in the engagements at E! Magfar and Tel-e'-Mahuta, and at the action of Kassasin on
the 28th August (Brevet of Major. Medal, and Khedive's Star).
391 Lt.Colonel D. C. Pedder served in the Eastern campaign in 1S55, and was present at the siege of Sebastopol
(Medal with Clasp).
31,2 Lt.Colonel N. Pennefather served with the 83rd Regiment in the Indian mutiny campaign, including the
siege of Kotah and its capture by assault on the 30th March 1853 (Medal with Clasp).
303 Lt.Colonel R. P. Pennefather served as Assistant Engineer in the Abyssinian Expedition during the whole
campaign of 1867-68. Services brought to the especial notice of Sir Robert Napier by the Commanding Royal
Engineer (mentioned in despatches, Medal).
305 Lt.Colonel G. N. Pepper served with the 31st Regiment in the Crimea from 22nd May 1855, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol and attacks of the 18th June and 8th Sept. (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
Present at the repulse of the Taeping rebels from Shanghai on 24th Aug. 1862.
305 Lt.Colonel G. E. Perryn served with the 90th Light Infantry in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including the
defence of the Alumbagh, relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, defence of the Alumbagh under Outram, siege and cap-
ture of Lucknow, and subsequent operations in Oude (Medal with two Clasps, and a year's service for Luck-
now).
306 Lt.Colonel H. Plummer served with the 7th Fusiliers in the Crimea from the 12th July 1855, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served with the 4th Punjaub Rifles in the
successful attack on the Cabool Khail Wuzeerees in Dec. 1859 and Jan. i860 ; and as A.Q.M.General to the Tank
Field Force under Brigadier Chamberlain in the operations against the Mahsood tribe of Wuzeerees from April to
the 22nd May i860, including the forcing of the Burrura Pass and burning of Makeen (Medal with Clasp).
307 Lt.Colonel W. H. Poe served in the Soudan Expedition uuder Sir Gerald Graham in 1884, and was present in
the engagement at El Teb — wounded (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's
Star). Served in the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 in command of Royal Marines attached to the Guards Camel
Regiment, and was present at the actions at Abu Klea and El Gubat and in the reconnaissance to Metammeh —
severely wounded, leg amputated (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, CB. and two Clasps).
308 Lt.Colonel H. W. Pollard served in the operations against the Taeping rebels in China in 1862, and was with the
storming party of the 67th Regiment at the second capture of Kahding. Served in the 2nd West India Regiment
in the Ashanti war in 1873, and was the next senior officer to ColoDel Festing in the two engagements at
Elmina (Medal).
309 Lt.Colonel E. Poole served in the operations against the Sultanate of Vitu in 1890 under Admiral Fremantle
(mentioned in despatches).
3,0 Lt.Colonel J. C. G. Price served in the Rohilcnnd campaign in 1838 (Medal).
311 Lt.Colonel E. B. Pritchard joined the R. M. Brigade in the Crimea in Feb. 1855, and served with it until
the fall of Sebastopol; was also at the surrender of Kinbourn (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in
the Ashanti war of 1873-74 (Medal).
312 Lt.Colonel J. Quarry served with the 66th Regiment in the Afghan war in 1879-80, and was present at the
affairs on the Helmund against the Wali's mutineers and at Girishk, the engagement at Maiwand, the defence of
Candahar and sortie of the 16th August, and at the battle of Candahar (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major,
Medal with Clasp i
313 Lt.Colonel E. Quin served with the 33rd Regiment throughout the Abyssinian campaign of 1867-68, and was
present at the storming and capture of Magdala (Medal). Served in the Afghan war in 1880 (Medal). Served
with the Burmese Expedition in 1885-86 (Medal with Clasp).
315 Lt.Colonel A. J. Kait served in the Okamundel campaign of 1859, and was present at the siege of Dwarkaand
subsequent operations. Served in the New Zealand war in 1863-64 in command of the Drivers of his Battery
acting as Cavalry, and was present at the action atKatikara, skirmishes at Kerrikerri, Pukekohe, and Rangiawhia,
and engagements atNeunni (horse shot) and Orakau (mentioned in despatches, Medal). Accompanied Sir Garnet
Wolseley to the Gold Coast in September 1873 on special service. Organised " Rait's Artillery" and commanded
it throughout the Ashanti war of 1873-74, including the action of the 27th October 1873 near Dunquah, relief of
Abrakrampa, battle of Amoaful, capture and destruction of Becquah, battle of Ordahsu and capture of Coomassie,
several times mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, CB., Medal with Clasp).
317 Lt.Colonel John Rawlins served with the 4Sth Regiment from the 3rd September 1855, including the siege and
fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
3iS Lt.Colonel S. R. Rawlinson served with the Burmese Expedition in 1885-87 (mentioned in despatches, DSO.,
and Medal with Clasp).
319 Lt.Colonel F. M. Raynsford was attached to the C Company Sappers and Miners and served as an Assistant
Field Engineer at the relief of Lucknow from 14th to 23rd November 1857, led one of the storming parties against
theMess House of the 23rd Native Infantry and Moote Mahal; present at the actions near Cawnpore, November
30th to 6th December 1857; also at Kuda Gunge during the attack on that place by the enemy, at the attack on
bir J. Outram's position at Alumbagh, and throughout the siege of Lucknow ; present with the Field Force under
Sir Hope Grant at the affair of Sircee and the occupation of Fyzabad, with the Column under Brigadier Horsford at
the actions near Sultanpore from 13th to 22nd August 1858, at the crossing of the force over the Goomtee in
presence of the enemy, mentioned in despatches at the affair of Doatpore. mentioned in despatches also at
Pandoo Nuddee October 27th 1358 Commanded C Company Sappers and Miners which was attached to the Field
