2 Sir Edward Bulwer.— For the War Services of Sir Edward Bulwerand the other General Officers of the

3 Major General G. Newmarch served as Assistant Field Engineer in constructing the defences of Meerut, from
May to Sept. 1857 ; afterwards in command of a Detachment of Sappers and four field guns in the Seharunpore
and Mozuffernuggur districts under Colonel J. Brind, assisted in the operations against the RohUcund rebels,
.and in the disarming of the town of Meersnpore (Medal) .

5 Colonel K. R. Todd served in the Soudan Expedition under Sir Gerald Graham in 1884 as Commanding
Royal Engineer, and was present in the engagements at El Teb and Temai (mentioned in despatches, Brevet ot
Lt.Colonef. Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star) . Served with the Nile Expedition in 1884-85 (Clasp).
6 Colonel C. M. Stockley served in the Indian N. W. Frontier war of 1863, and was present at the attack on the
Crag Piquet, and severely wounded on the Urnbeyla Heights on the 19th November (Medal with Clasp). Served
in the Jowaki campaign of 1877-78 as Brigade Major to the 1st Brigade (Clasp). Served throughout the Afghan
war of 1878-80, first as Brigade Major 1st Infantry Brigade 1st Division Southern Afghanistan Field Force, and
afterwards with the 2nd Battalion 9th Foot in Northern Afghanistan, including the affair at Shekabad under
Major General Ross (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal).
7 Colonel E. Hughes served in the Zulu war in 1879 and was present in the engagements at Kambula 8nd
Ulundi (mentioned in despatches, promoted to Commissary, C2IG-., and Medal with Clasp). Also served in the
Boer war of 18S1 with the Natal Field Eorce. Served in the Egyptian war of 1882 as Senior Commissariat Officer,
and was present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (promoted Assistant Commissary General with relative rank of
Lt. Colonel, Medal with Clasp, 3rd Class of the Medjidie, and Khedive's Star). Served with the Nile Expedition
in 1884-85 as Senior Commissariat Officer (mentioned in despatches, promoted Deputy Commissary General,
Clasp).
8 Colonel H. S. E. Reeves served in the Zulu war in 1879 anli in tae subsequent operations against Sekukuni
(mentioned in despatches, Medal with Clasp). Also served in the Boer war of 1881. Served in the Egyptian war
of 1882 as Director of Transport (mentioned in despatches, granted relative rank of Lt.Colonel, Medal, 3rd Class
of the Medjidie, and Khedive's Star).
15 Major General J. R. K. Tredennick served with the 57th Regiment in the New Zealand war in 1865-66, and
was present at the affair ol Kakaramea, storm and capture of the fortified Pahs of Otapawa and Ketemeri, and
various minor affairs (Medal). Served in the Zulu campaign of 1879, and commanded ihe 57th Regiment from
the middle of April to the end of the war, including the operations of " Clarke's Column " (Medal with Clasp).
22 Colonel C. S. Corkran served in the expedition to the Soudan in 1885 with the 3rd Battalion of the Grenadier
Guards, and was present in the engagement at Hasheen (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star).
32 Colonel C. T. W. Penton served throughout the Zulu war of 1S79 with the 88th Regiment (Medal with Clasp).
43 Colonel E. R. Coker served with the Soudan Frontier Field Force in 1S85-86 in command of the 2nd Battalion
Durham Light Infantry, and was present in the engagement at Giniss (mentioned in despatches, DSO., Medal, and
Khedive's Star).
55 Colonel P. E. Pope served with the 4th Dragoon Guards in the Egyptian war of 1882, and was present in
the eno-ao-ements at El Magfar, Tel-el- Malmta, and Kassasin on the 9th September (Medal, and Ktiedive's Star).
=6 Colonel R. S. Hall served with the 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards in the Egyptian war of 18S2, and was
present in the engagement at Tel-el-Mahuta and at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's
Star). Served in the expedition to the Soudan in 1S85 with the 1st Battalion of the Coldstream Guards, and was
present in the engagement at Hasheen, at that near Tofrek on the 24th March, and at the destruction of Temai
Bo Colonel R. F. Williamson embarked for the Gold Coast with the 2nd Battalion of the 23rd Fusiliers in 1873
(Ashanti Medal). Served in the Burmese Expeditiou in 1885-86 with the 1st Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers,
and was present in the engagements at Zeedaw where he commanded, and at Kadoe (mentioned in despatches,
Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with Clasp). Served with the Hazara Expedition in 1891 in command of the 1st
Brigade (mentioned in despatches. CB., and Clasp).
6 4 Colonel F. J. Todd served with the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers m the Egyptian war of 1882, and was
present at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, 4th Class of the Osmanieh, and Khedive's Star).
65 Major General the Hon. E. A. B. Acheson served with the 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards in the Egyptian
war of 1882, and was present in the engagement at Tel-el-Mahuta and at tbe battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp,
