Frontier of India under Sir William Lockhart in 1897-
98, as Aide-de-Camp to Sir Bindon Blood, Command-
ing Malakand Field Force, f.nd was jiesent in the
'engagement at Landakai ; also with the Buner Field
; Force as Aide-de-Camp to Sir Bindon Blood (three
, with two clasps); was awarded the Victoria Cross for
