GOODEVE, Capt. L. (R. Sc. Fus.).— Served in the
S. African War, 1902. — Took part in the operations
in the Transvaal Mar. to 21 May 02. Queen's medal

V C GOODFELLOW, Lt.-Gen C. A. (u.s.l. R.
Eng.) — Served with Central India Field Force in
1857-58, and present at s!ege and capture of Ratghur,
capture of Garrakota, siege and storm of Jhanzi (DC
and Medal with Clasp) — was awarded the U C for
" gallant conduct rt the ttack en the Fort of Beyt
on 6th Oct. 1859. On that cccasion a soldier of the
28th Regiment was shot under the walls cf the fort.
Lieut. Goodfellow rushed vnder the walls, vnder a
sharp fire of matchlocks, ard lore oft' the be dy of
the soldier, who was then dead, but whom he at
first supposed to be wounded only." Was .Assistant
Field Engineer with the Okamuudel and Kattywar
Field Force in 1859. — Served as Brigade Major of
Royal Engineers v-ith the .'\byssiai.'in Expeditionary
Force throughout the campaign. Mentioned in des-
