Served during the Crimean Campaign, 1855-6. — Served
in the Crimea after the fall of Sevastopol until the
Armistice. Served in the China War, '850-60. — Acting
Engineer with the gunboa' expedition to lleang Shan,
and present at actions of Sinho and '^angku, occupa-
tion of Tientsin, and surrender of Pekin. Medal with
3 clasps. Served with the Egyptitn Expedition. 18H2.
— Was Military Staft Officer to ,'\dmiral Com. -in-Chief
at the bombardment of .Alexandria, afterwards in
charge of Intell. Dept., and as .A-A-G to .idvance force
under Maj. -Gen. Graham. Took part in the occupa-
tion of Port Said, second action at Kassassin, and
battle of Tel-el-Kebir. Despatches, 20 July, 8 Sept.
