1850. Served in the Peshawur Expeditionary Force on the Euzofzie Frontier under Sir Sydney Cotton in April and
May 1858, and at the affair with the Hindostanee fanatics on the Heights of Sittana on the 4th May (Medal with
Clasp).
96 Lt. Colonel G. A. Elliot served with the 18th Royal Irish throughout the Burmese war of 1852-53 (Medal with
Clasp for Pegu), and was with the storming party at the capture of Martaban ; was on board H.M.S. Rattler at the
destruction of the river stockades ; and on land at that of those on the Dellah side ; present in the operations in
front of Rangoon on the 12th and 13th April 1852, including the capture of the White House stockade; also at the
etorm and capture of Rangoon (wounded). Served in the Crimea from the 20th August 1855, including the siege
and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
98 Lt.Colonel England served the Eastern campaignof 1854 as Aide de Campto Sir Richard England, including the
battle of Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal) .
100 Lt.Colonel W. H. Fairtlough served with the 55th RegimentontheChinaexpedition (Medal), and was present
at Amoy, Chusan, Chinhae (including the night attack), Chapoo, Woosung, Shanghai, and Chin Kiang Foo.
102 Lt.Colonel O. B. Feilden served in the 72nd Highlanders in the Crimea from the 16th July 1855, including the
siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
103 Lt.Colonel Ferguson served with the Grenadier Guards in the Crimean campaign from the 19th Feb. 1855, in-
cluding the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).

105 Lt.Colonel J. C. Fife-Cookson served with the iSth Royal Irish and with the 65th Regiment in the New Zealand
war in 1865 (Medal). Was appointed a Military Attache to the British Embassy at Constantinople on the outbreak
of the Russo-Turkish war in 1877, and accompanied the Turkish armies in the Balkan campaign, and subsequently
at Gallipoli (Brevet of Major).

wounded at the battle of Alma (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
108 Lord Fred. FitzRoy served under Sir Robert Stopford during the operations on the coast of Syria in 1840
(Medal).
110 Lt.Colonel John Foott served in the Indian campaign of 1857-58 with the 88th Regiment, including the actions
of 26th 27th and 28th November at Cawnpore, under General Windham ; battle of Cawnpore 6th December, and
pursuit of the Gwalior Contingent, with minor affairs in Oude (Medal).
112 Lt.Colonel F. R. Forster served in the Crimean campaign from Oct. 1854 to the 10th July 1855, including the
battles of Balaklava and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, Brevet of Major, Sardinian
and Turkish Medals, and 5th Class of the Medjidie).
113 Lt.Colonel Fortescue served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 as Deputy Assistant Adjutant General RoyaS
Artillery, including the affairs of Bulganac and M'Kenzie's Farm, battles of Alma (horse killed), Balaklava, and
Inkerman, capture of Balaklava, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, Brevets of Major ant?

111 Lt.Colonel G. V. Fosbery served with the Eusofzaie expeditionary force under Generals Chamberlain and
Garvock during the operations at Umbeyla from October to December 1863 where he commanded a body of marks-
men of the 71st and 101st Regiments armed with rifles firing shells of his own invention j was engaged in the de-
fence of the Crag and Eagle's Nest Piquets, and as a volunteer with Major Keyes at the storming of the Sunga 00
the Crag Piquet, where he led a party of the 1st Punjaub Infantry and Corps of Guides, and was the first man ia
driving out a strong body of the enemy, estimated at 500 strong, after desperate hand-to-hand fighting (mentioned!
in despatches, Victoria Cross, Medal with Clasp, and Brevet of Major) : was awarded the UiE " for the daring,
and gallant manner in which, on the 30th October 1863, acting as a volunteer at the time, he led a party of
his regiment (the 1st Punjab Infantry) to re-capture the Crag Piquet, after its garrison had been driven in by
the enemy, on which occasion sixty of tnem were killed in desperate hand-to-hand fighting. From the
nature of the approach to the top of the crag amongst the large rocks, one or two men only could advance at one
time; and 'whilst I ascended one path,' relates Lieutenant Colonel Keyes, CD., commanding the 1st Punjab
Infantry, ' I directed Lieutenant Fosbery, of the late 4th European Regiment, to push up another at the head of a
few men. He led this party with the greatest coolness and intrepidity, and was the first man to gain the top of the
crag on his side of the attack.' Subsequently, Lieutenant Colonel Keyes being wounded, Lieutenant Fosbery
assembled a party with which he pursued the routed enemy in the direction of the Lalloo ridge, inflicting on them,
further loss and confirming possession of the post."
115 Lt.Colonel T. Gardiner served in the 98th Regiment in the Peshawur Expeditionary Force on the Euzofzie-
Frontier under Sir Sidney Cotton in April and May 1S58, including the destruction of Chiuglie and the affair with;
the Hindoostanee fanatics on the Heights of Sittana on the 4th May (Medal with Clasp). Served also as Adjutant
and Quarter Master of the 18th Punjaub Infantry in Oude, and as Brigade Quarter Master at the final subjection of
the rebels along the Nepaul Terai (Medal).
118 Lt.Colonel Gascoigne served with the Grenadier Guards in the Crimean campaign from 29th Aug. 1S55, including-
the siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
119 Lt.Colonel B. T. Gilpin served with the 62nd Regiment in the Crimea in 1854-55, including the siege and fall o4<
Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
180 Lt.Colonel A. A. Godwin accompanied Sir Garnet Wolseley to the Gold Coast in September 1873 on special ser-
vice, and served in the first phase of the Ashanti war. Was appointed Special Commissioner to the King of
Annamaboe. Raised the Annamaboe Contingent and commanded it at the action of the 27th October near Dunquah
where he was severely wounded (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal).

122 Sir William Gordon (17th Lancers) served in the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including the battle of Balaklava
(wounded and horse shot) and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with two Clasps, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th
Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Served in the campaign of Central India, and command ed a Squadron;
in the affairs of Rajghur, Mongrowlee, Sindwaho, Kharee, and Zerapore (twice mentioned in despatches for gallant
conduct at Rajghur and Mongrowlee, Brevet of Major, and Medal).
123 Lt.Colonel F. W. Gore served with the 6th Regt. in the Kaffir wars of 1846-47 and of 1851-53 (Medal). Served
with the Buffs at the siege of Sebastopol from 1st to 16th May 1855, after which as Aide de Camp to Major General
Michel with the Turkish Contingent (Medal with Clasp, Turkish Medal, and 4th Class of the Medjidie).
121 Lt.Colonel J. P. Gore served with the 2nd Battalion Royals in Canada during the rebellion in 1837-38, including
the stomi and capture of St. Charles and St. Eustache, and ulterior operations on the Richelieu andadjacent country'.
Was with the Right Wing onboard the Premier when that transport was wrecked, in Nov. 1843, in the Gulf of St.
Lawrence. Landed with the Battalion in the Crimea on the 22nd April 1855, and was at the siege and fall of
Sebastopol, and wounded in the Trenches on the 6th July (Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal) ,
Served throughout the campaign of i860 in North China, and was present at the storm and capture of Sinho and.
Tangku, occupation of Tientsin, and surrender of Pekin (Medal and Clasps) .
125 Lt.Colonel A. L. G. Gould served in the Zulu war in 1879 (Medal with Clasp). Served with the Nile Expedition
in 1884-85 with the Heavy Camel Regiment, and was present at the action of Abu Klea (Medal with two Clasps, and
Khedive's Star). Served in the South African war in 1899-1902 as Staff Officer to an Assistant Inspector of Re-
mounts, Lines of Communication (promoted Lt.Coione in Reserve):
128 Lt.Colonel T. E. Green served with the 82nd Regiment in Bengal during the Indian Mutiny in 1S57-58 (Medal),
and with the Military Train in New Zealand from 1864 to 1867 (Medal).
129 Lt.Colonel D. C. Greene served with the 43rd Light Infantry in the Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal). Nominated
to the 4th Class of the Medjidie for service with the Turkish Contingent.
136 Lt.Colonel F. Hall served with the 88th Regiment in the Crimea from 3rd July 1855, including the siege and fall
of Sebastopol, and attack of the Redan on the 8th September (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served also
in suppression of the Indian mutiny in 1857-58, including the operations at Cawnpore from 3rd to 6th December
