■Star). Served in the Nile Expedition in 1884-S5 in command of Royal Marines attached to the Guards Camel
Regiment, and was present at the actions at Abu Klea and E! Gubat and in the reconnaissance to Metammeh—

408 Lt.Colonel H. W. Pollard served in the operations against the Taeping rebels in China in 1862, and was with the
storming party of the 67th Regiment at the second capture of Kahding. Served in the 2nd West India Regiment

413 Lt-Colonel E. Quin served with the 33rd Regiment throughout the Abyssinian campaign of 1867-08, and was

415 Lt-Colonel John Rawlins served with the 48th Regiment from the 3rd September 1855, including the siege and
fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).

Field Engineer at the relief of Lucknow from 14th to 23rd November 1857, led one of the storming parties against
tthe Mess House of the 23rd Native Infantry and Moote Mahal; present at the actions near Cawnpore, November
30th to 6th December 1857; also at Kuda Gunge during the attack on that place by the enemy, at the attack on
Sir J. Outram's position at Alumbagh, and throughout the siege of Lucknow ; present with the Field Force under
Sir Hope Grant at the affair of Sircee and the occupation of Fyzabad, with the Column under Brigadier Horsford at
the actions near Sultanpore from 13th to 22nd August 1858, at the crossing of the force over the Goomtee in
presence of the enemy, mentioned in despatches at the affair of Doatpore, mentioned in despatches also at
IP-vndoo Nuddee October 27th 1858. Commanded C Company Sappers and Miners which was attached to the Field
Force under Colonel Christie in pursuit of the rebels Trans Gogra. Whilst in command of the C Company
Sappers and Miners was favourably mentioned in General orders by the Commander in Chief in India (Medal
with two Clasps).
419 Lt.Colonel C. E. Reeves served in the campaign in the Malay Peninsula in 1875-76 with the Buffs, including
