125 Captain G. E. Sharp served in the South African war in 1900-02 ; took part m operations in the Orange
Free State Feb. to May 1900, including actions at Karce Siding, Vet River and Zand River ; in operations in the
Transvaal in 1900 (action near Johannesburg), in Orange River Colony 1901 ; in Cape Colony 1901-02 (Queen's
Medal with three Clasps, King's Medal with two Clasps).
126 Captain J. A. Willington took part in operations in Sierra Leone 1898-99.
147 Captain E. A. Lang served in the South African war in 1900-02 ; took part in operations in Natal (action at

1900; also in Cape Colony, south and north of the Orange River ; in Cape Colony to July 1901— dangerously
wounded (Queen's Medal with five Clasps, King's Modal with two Clasps).
129 Captain Mackenzie served in the South African war in 1S99-1900 with the 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regi-
ment, and took part in the operations in Natal in r899, including the actions at Rietfontein and Lombard's Kop ;
operations in the Transvaal in June 1900 ; and in Orange River Colony, July and August 1900 (Medal with
three Clasps).
13 Major W. S. Carey served in the South African war with the 2nd Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment in 1S99-
1901, and took part in the operations in Natal in 1899 ; relief of Ladysmith, including the action at Colenso; oper-
ations of the 1 -th to 24th Jan. 1900, and the action at Spion Kop ; of the 5th to 7th Feb. 1900, and the action at
Vaal Krantz ; on Tugela Heights, 14th to 27th Feb., and "the action at Pieter's Hill ; in Natal, March to June 1900,
and the engagement at Laing's Nek ; and in the Transvaal, east and west of Pretoria, July to 29th November
1900 (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal with five Clasps).
131 Captain Wimberley served in the South African war with the 2nd Battalion Wiltshire Regiment, and took
part in the operations in Cape Colony, south of Orange River, 1900, including the action at Colesberg.
132 Captain Napier served in the campaign on the North West Frontier of India with the 3rd Battalion Rifl-j
Brigade in 1S97-9S with the Tochi Field Force (Medal with Clasp).
