85 Captain K. L. Stevenson served in the South African war in 1899-1-100 (mentioned in despatches).
86 Captain Wethered served in the South African war in 1899-1902, first with the 1st Battalion Dublin Fusiliers
in the relief of Ladysmitl., afterwards with the 1st Battalion East Lancashire Regiment in the advance to
Bloemfontein and Johannesburg ; was present at the engagements at Brandfort, Vet River, Zand River and the
occupation of Johannesburg. Acted as Signalling Officer in Northern and Eastern Transvaal, afterwards in
Cape Colony and at, i'afel Kop, Orange River Colony (Medal with four Clasps).'
87 Captain Banks served in the South African war in 1900 as Brigade Signalling Officer 4th Brigade and
Divisional Signalling Officer 7th Division, and took part in the operations at Paardeberg, the engagements at
Poplar Grove, Karee, Brandfort, and the Vet and Zand Rivers, and the occupation of Bloemfontein, Johannesburg,
and Pretor<a(mentioned in despatches, DSO.).
88 Captain Hill served in the campaign on the North West Frontier of India under Sir William Lockhart in
1897-9S with the Tirah Exrjeditionary Force with the 1st Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment, and was present in the
engagement at Chagru Kotal (Medal with two Clasps).
89 Major J. A. Stewart served in Burma in 1889-92, including the operations of the Tonhon Expedition (Medal
with Clasri). Served with the Chitral Relief Force under Sir Robert Low in 1895, and was present at the capture
of the Malakand Pass and in the engagements in the Swat Valley, at Panjkora River and Namugai (Medal with
Clasp). Served in the South African war in 1899-1902, and took part in the operations in Cape Colony, south of
Orange River, in 1889-190C ; the operations in the Transvaal, Dec. 1900 to 31st May 1902, and in Cape Colony
30th Nov. igoo to Dec. 1900 (Medal with three Clasps, King's Medal with two Clasps).
