South African War 1000-02 with the 16th Battalion Mounted Infantry, and afterwards as Staff Officer for Intelli-

the North West Frontier of India in 1908 withjthe Mohmand Field Force under Sir J. Willcocks (Medal with Clasp).
47 Captain Buist served in the campaign on the North West Frontier of India under Sir William Lsckhart in 1897

(Melal with Clasp). Served in the South African War 1901 with Mounted Infantry— severely wounded (Queen's
Medal with four Clasps).

the actions at Wittebergen and Wittpoort ; subsequently served as Regimental Transport Officer ; Operations in
