Major General R. TJpcher served in the Kaffir war in 1S77-78 iu command of the Left Column, and was
present in the engagements at Quintana in command of the troops (mentioned in despatches), and at Kei River;
also served in the Zuln war in 1879, and commanded the 1st Battalion of the 24th Foot after the engagement at
Isanhiwana (Brevet of Major. Medal with Clasp). Served with the Burmese Expedition in 1885-89 (mentioned
in despatches, DSO. and Medal, with two Clasps.)
10 Lt.Colonel Bush served with the Soudan Frontier Field Force in 1SS5-86, and was present in the engagement at
Giniss (Medal, and Khedive's Star). Served in the South African war in 1902 as Garrison Adjutant, Orange River.
11 Major W. T. Buck served with the Soudan Frontier Field Force in 1885-86, and was present at the battle of
