including the actions near Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Diamond Hill; and in Orange River Colony, May to

engagement at Allemann's Nek. Promoted into the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Served with the 28th
Mounted Infantry, Royal Warwickshire Company, in 1902 — twice wounded (mentioned in despatches, Medal with
seven Clasps),
33 Captain Besant served in the campaign in the Soudan under Sir Herbert Kitchener in 1898 with the 1st Bat-
talion Warwickshire P.egiment as Orderly Officer to the General Officer Commanding the Line of Communications
(British Medal, and Khedive's Medal).
37 Lieut. Yatts served in the South African war in 1900 with the 6th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment.
