* Colonel J. G. Sparkes served with the and Battalion Derbyshire Regiment in the Egyptian war of 18S2 (Medal,
and Khedive's Star).
* Colonel W. E. Hilliard served with the Expeditionary Field Force under Colonel J. R. Mackenzie in Arabia from 27th
Oct. to 20 th Dec. 1873, including the investment, surrender, occupation, and destruction of fort at Al-Hota, and subsequen t
march to Zaidi in pursuit of Ally Bin Mana, the chief of Honshabi. Served in Burmese Expedition in 1886-87 with the 1st
