1 Lt.General G. H. Moncrieff served in Crimea from 2nd May 1855, including siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal
with Clasp, and Tvnkish Medal).
3 Lt.Colonel W. H. Murray served in South African war in 1899-1902 and took part in defence of Kimberley, -and
actions at Dronfield, Carter's Ridge, and Macfarlane's Farm ; also took part in operations in Orange River Colonv
1900-01 under Lord Methuen, including actions at Lindley, Rhenoster River, Oliphant's Nek, and Hartebeeste-
fontein ; served as Commandant and took part in operations against the rebels in Vryburg District, July to Dec. 1901 ,
and in final operations in the Eastern Transvaal 1902 (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Medal with

6 Colonel Cunningham served in Egyptian war of 1882, and was present in engagements at El Magfar and Tel-
el-Mahuta, and in action at Kassasin on 28th August — twice wounded (mentioned in despatches, Medal, Brevet of Major,
5th Class of the Medjid e, and Khed.ve's Star). Served in Nile Expedition in 1884-85 with 2nd Battalion of the Duke
of Cornwall's Light Infantry, and took part in operations of Advance Column under Major General Earle (Clasp) ;
also served in operations of Soudan Frontier Field Force in 1887, including engagement at Sarras, and in operations
in 1S89, including engagements at Arguin — wounded, and Toski (Clasp). Nominated to 4th Class of the Osmanieh
for services with Egyptian Army. Commanded Unyoro Expedition in 1895 — wounded (mentioned in despatches,
Medal) ; and commanded Nandi Expedition in 1895-96 (mentioned in despatches, DSO.). Served in Niger Soudan
campaign under Major Arnold in 1897, including expeditions to Egbon, Bida, and Ilorin (mentioned in despatches,
Brevet of Lt.Colonel, Clasp). Served in operations in Sierra Leone in 1898-99, and took part in Mendiland Expedition
in command of a column ; afterwards had charge of Karene District during Karene Expedition, and commanded Protector-
ate Expeditionary Force (Brevet of Colonel, Clasp).
7 Major Wemyss served in South African war in 1901-02, and took part in operations in the Transvaal June
1901 to 31st May 1902; and in Orange River Colony and Cape Colony June 1901 (Medal with five Clasps).
8 Major Molyneux Seel served in South African war with 1st Battalion in 1899-1901 ; raised and commanded 1st
Company Royal Scots Mounted Infantry ; and took part in operations in Orange River Colony, including defence of
Wepener, and actions at Bethlehem and Wittebergen 1900 ; also in Cape Colony 1899-1900 ; and in the Transvaal
Jan. to Sept. 1901 ; commanded Mounted Infantry on Lines of Communication, Bloemfontein District (mentioned
in despatches, DSO., Medal with five Clasps).
10 Major Daniel served with Bechuanaland Expedition under Sir Charles Warren in 1884-85 with 1st Battalion
Royal Scots. Served in; operations in Zululand in 1888. Served in South African war in 1899-1902 with the
1st Battalion Royal Scots, and took part in operations in Cape Colony 1899-1900 ; also in Orange River Colony May
to 29th Nov. 1900; and in the Transvaal, east of Pretoria, July to 29th Nov. 1900, including actions at Belfast and
Lydenberg (mentioned in despatches, Medal with four Clasps).
13 Major Versturme-Bunbury served with Bechuanaland Expedition under Sir Charles Warren in 18S4-85 with the
1st Battalion of the Royal Scots. Served in British East Africa against Ogaden Somalis in Jubaland in 1900-01 with
East Africa Rifles (Medal with Clasp). Served in South African war in 1902 with 1st Battalion the Royal Scots, and
took part in operations in Transvaal Feb. to 31st May 1902 (Medal with two Clasps).
14 Major Smith took part in operations in Zululand in 1888.
15 Captain M'Micking served in the South African war in 1899-1902 on the Staff, was present at the relief of Kim-
berley, and took part in operations in the Orange Free State Feb. to May 1900 including operations at Paardeberg, and
actions at Poplar Grove, Driefontein, Vet River, and Zand River; also in the Transvaal in May and June 1900 in-
cluding actions near Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Diamond Hill ; and in the Transvaal, east of Pretoria, July to 29th
Nov. 1900, including action at Reit Vlei (twice mentioned in despatches, DSO., Medal with six Clasps, King's
Medal with two Clasps).
