and other operations (twice mentioned in despatches). Was specially mentioned for the very gallant manner in
which he rushed upon the enemy's position of Okea near Warea on the 2nd August 1865 (Brevet of Major, and Medal) .
~*f Major W. E. Chapman served with the 18th Royal Irish in the New Zealand war of 1863-66 (Medal).
75 Major C. Clapcott served with the 32nd Regt. at the first and second siege operations before Mooltan, in -
eluding the attack of the enemy's position in front of the advanced trenches on the 12th Sept. 1848, the action of
Soorjkoond, storm and capture of the city, and surrender of the fortress. Also present at the surrenderof the fort
and garrison of Cheniote. and at the battle of Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps).
78 Major J. G. Clarke served with the 46th Regt. in the Crimea from the nth July 1S55, including the siege and
fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
77 Major Clifford served with the ioth Regt. in the Punjaub campaign in 1849, and was present at the battle of
Goojerat (Medal with Clasp).
79 Major T. Hugh Coekbum joined the Central India Field Force at Jhansi, and was appointed Aide de Camp to
Sir Hugh Rose, was present at the action at Koonch, those in front of and capture of Calpee, and recapture of
Gwalior (twice mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major, Medal with Clasp).
83 Major T. G. Coote served with the 83rd Regiment in suppressing the Indian Mutiny and was present at the
affair of Sanganeer, and defeat of the Gwalior rebels at Kotaria on the 14th Aug. 1858 (Medal with Clasp for Cen-
tral India). Served with the 26th Cameronians in the Abyssinian campaign in 1868 (Medal).
84 Major R. Coupe served with the 15th Regiment in Canada during the rebellion in 1837-38, including the advance
upon Napierville, and subsequent pursuit of the insurgents. Also served with a detachment of the 15th Regiment,
defeating the insurgents during the suppression of the rebellion in the Kandian Provinces, Ceylon, in 1848.
87 Major Croker served as Assistant Quarter Master General in the action at Zorapore near Kurnool en the 28th
October 1839 ; and also in a like capacity in the action at Maharajpore, 29th December 1843 (Bronze Star).
88 Major Crosse served in the Eastern campaign of 1854 with the 88th Regiment, including the battles of Alma and
Inkerman (severely wounded), and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, Brevet of Major, and Turkish
Medal). Served in the Indian Mutiny campaign in 1858, including the siege of Lucknow in March, and siege of
Calpee (Medal with Clasp for Central India).
89 Sir Charles 'Wheeler Cuffe served as 2nd Assistant Adjutant General on Lord Clyde's Staff during the campaign
in Oude in 1858 and part of 1859, and was present in the actions of Doondiakeria, Mugedia, and the Raptee (Medal,
and Brevet of Major).
91 Major Hon. W. H. C'urzon served with the 17th Lancers in the Crimea from 13th July 1855, including the battle
of the Tchernaya, siege and fall of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Also the campaign of
1838-59 in Central India, including the action of Burode (Medal).
93 Major J. Cusack served with the 97th Regiment in the Crimean campaign of 1854-55, including the siege and fall
of Sebastopol, taking of the Quarries, and storming of the Redan on the 18th June and 8th Sept. — wounded (Medal
with Clasp, Medal for Distinguished Conduct in the Field, and Turkish Medal).
93 Major Dalrymple served in the Boer war of 1881 with the Natal Field Force.
94 Major Dartnell served in the S6th Regiment with the Central India Field Force in 1857, and was present at the
storm and capture of Chnndaree, and led the only successful escalade attack on the fortress of Jhansi — severely
wounded, mentioned in despatches (Medal with Clasp, and Brevet of Major). Served in the Bhootau expedition in
1865 as Aido de Camp to Major General Tombs, and was present at the recapture of Dewangiri.
95 Major \V. A. Daubeuy served the campaign of i860 in China (Medal with Clasp for the Taku Forts).
"> Major A. Davies commanded a Detachment 74th Highlanders at the destruction of a band of insurgent Moplas
on the 17th Sept. 1855 at Murroon in Malabar. Served in the Southern Mahratta Country in 1858, and commanded
the Infantry of the force at the capture of the town and Fort of Nurgoond (mentioned in despatch, Medal).
,J7 Major Day served in the Egyptian war in 1882 with the 7th Dragoon Guards (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of
Major, Medal, and Khedive's Star).
93 Major Dennis served with the 95th Regiment in the Crimea from the 21st Feb. 1855, including the siege and fall
of Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
99 Major C. L. C. de Robeck served with the 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles in the Afghan war from October 1878 to
September 1879, and took part in the advance on and occupation of Candahar and IChelat-i-Ghilzie (Medal).

11,3 Major B. Drew served with the 75th Regiment throughout the campaign before Delhi in 1857, including tho
battle of Budlee kc Serai ; commanded the Grenadier Company at the assault of Delhi and ultimately the Regiment;
accompanied Colonel Greathed's pursuing Column, and was present at the affairs of Allyghur and Akbarabad and
battles of Bolundshuhur and Agra ; served in the advance into Oude under Sir Colin Campbell, and on the relief of
the Garrison of Lucknow remained with General Outram's Force at Alumbagb, and took part in the several repulses
of the enemy (Medal with two Clasps, and Brevet of Major).
104 Major Dunbar served with the Buffs in the Crimean campaign from 1st May 1855, including the siege and fall
of Sebastopol and assault of the Redan on the 8th September — wounded (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal).
lM Major C. D. C. Ellis served with the 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles in the Kaffir war of 1851-53 (Medal). Was D.A.Q.M.
General at Head Quarters of the Turkish Contingent in the Crimea from Dec. 1855 to June 1856 (Turkish Modal).
Also served in the Oude campaign of 1858 — commanded a Detachment of the 60th Rifles at the affair of Mehndee —
and present at the action of Biswah. Commanded the 1st Battalion during tho pursuit through the Khyrecghur
jungles (Medal, and Brevet of Major).

109 Lord Erroll served with the Rifle Brigade in the Eastern campaign of 1854, and was severely wounded at the
battle of Alma (Medal with Clasp, Brevet of Major, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal).
109 Major Evans served with the 29th Regiment throughout the Punjaub campaign of 184S-49, including the pas-
sage of the Chenab, and battles of Chillianwallah and Goojerat (Medal with two Clasps).
111 Major Fanning served with the 64th Regiment in the Persian campaign of 1856-57, including the storm and
capture of Reshire, surrender of Bushire, night attack and battle of Kooshab, and bombardment of Mohumrah
(Medal with Clasp). Served in the N.W. Provinces of India in suppressing the mutiny in 1857-58; commanded a
Detachment in the action of Khugwa, present in the defence of Cawnpore and defeat of the Gwalior mutineers, and
actions of Kala Nuddee and Kerkeroulio, capture of Bareilly, affairs of Shahjehanpore, Bunnie, and Mahomdio ;
served in the Oude campaign of 1858-59 as Brigade Major of Brigadier Hale's Force, and was present at the attack
and capturo of the town and Fort of Sandee (Medal).
112 Major A. M. Fawcett served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 50th Regiment, including the battles of
Alma and Inkerman, and siege of Sebastopol (Medal with three Clasps, and Turkish Medal). Served with the 9th
Lancers the Indian campaign of 1857-59, commanded a Squadron at the battle of Budlckeserai and throughout the
siege and capture of Delhi (horse shot in repelling a sortie on 19th June) ; also with Greathed's Columu in the
action of Bolundshur (horse shot) and Allyghur, and was senior Officer of the Regiment in camp at Agra whon tho
enemy attacked, and commanded during the early part of the engagement, and in the action at Meraigunge;
present at the relief of Lucknow by Lord Clyde, battle of Cawnpore on 6th December, and actions at Seraighat and
Khudagunge, and capture of Mceangunge; commanded a Squadron at the siege of Lucknow from 2nd to 19th
March, and throughout the summer campaign in Oude and Rohilcund, including actions at Rhodamow and
AlPygunge, capture of Bareilly, action at Shahjehanpore and pursuit to Mahomdee, and affair at Kumdakoti (Medal
with two Clasps, and a year's service for Lucknow).
113 Major F. Fawkes served with the 71st Highlanders in the Central India campaign in 1S5S, and was present at
the battle of Kotakaserai and recapture of Gwalior (Medal with Clasp).
114 Major J. Finlay served with the 78th Highlanders in the Persian war in 1857, including tho night attack and
battle of Kooshab, bombardment of Mohumrah, and expedition to Ahwaz (Medal with Clasp). Served in Bengal
with Havelock's Column from its first taking the field in 1857, including the actions of Futtehpore, Aoung, Pandoo
Nuddee, Cawnporo, Onao, Buseemtgunge (first and second), and in the several actions leading to and ending
ir> the relief of the Residency of Lucknow and subsequent defence; with Outram's Force at Alumbagh. including
the repulse of the numerous attacks and operations, ending in the final capture of Lucknow ; the Rohilcund cam-
paign in 1858, and capture of Bareilly (Medal with two Clasps, and a year's service for Lucknow).
