a 4l Lieut. Bayley served in the South African war in 1899-iqoo with the 1st Battalion Oxfordshire Light Infantry
s Transport Officer, took part in the march from Modder River to Bloemfontein, and was present in the engage-
ments at Klip Drift, Paardeberg, Poplar Grove, and Driefontein, and the occupation of Bloemfontein, and in the
operations of Knox's Column in Orange River Colony, including many minor engagements,
42 Lieuts. Fuller and Kirkpatrick, and Second Lieut. Logan served in the South African war in 1 899-1900 with
the 1st Battalion Oxfordshire Light Infantry.
43 Lieut. King served in the campaign on the North West Frontier of India under Sir William Lockhai t 111
1897-98 with the 2nd Battalion Oxfordshire Light Infantry with the Mohmand Field Force, and with the Peshavvur
Column and the 5th Brigade Tirah Expeditionary Force including the operations in the Bara Valley (Medal with
two Clasps).
44 Captain Ross served throughout the Egyptian war of 1882 with the Cameron Highlanders, and was present
at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (Medal with Clasp, and Khedive's Star). Served in the South African war in 1899-1900
as Quarter Master 1st Battalion Oxfordshire Light Infantry, took part in the march from Modder River to Bloem-
fontein, and was present in the engagements at Klip Drift, Paardeberg, Poplar Grove, and Dr.efontein, and the
occupation of Bloemfontein— invalided home (hon. rank of Captain).
