Fort. Awah and the siege of ICotah (Medal with Clasp).
689 Colonel T. N. Walker served in the Indian Mutiny campaign of 1S57-58 with the 2nd Bengal European
Fusiliers, including all the siege operations before Delhi in ;S~7 (wounded on the iSth July), aud was selected as
one of the Subalterns of the ladder party at the final assault and capture of the city (wounded on the 15th Septem-
ber) ; was afterwards present at the capture of the heights of So nail, and surrender of the forts of Rewarrie,
Jujjhur, Ranoude, Furrucknugur, and Bullumbghur ; served with the 17th Punjaub Infantry in the Rohilcund
campaign in 1858, including the actions of Amsoth, Bagawalla, and Nugeega, and relief of Moradabad (Medal
with Clasp). Served with the expedition against the Nagfl Hill tribes in 1879-S0, and was present at the assault of

691 Colonel W. A. J. Wallace served in the Afghan war of 1878-80 as a. Field Engineer with the Koorum Column,
and superintended the movement by rail of sir Donald Stewart's Division in November 1878 over 300 miles of the
aewly opened Indus Valley railway between Mooltan and Sukkur (received the thanks of the Commander in
Chief in India, Medal). Served in cue Egyptian war of 18S2 in charge of the railway operations* and was present
at the battle of Tel-el-Kebir (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Lt.Coloiiel, Medal with Clasp, 4th Class of the
Osmanieh, and Khedive's Star).
692 Colonel F. D. Walters served with the 44th Regt. in the Crimea from the 27th .Ian. 1S5;. including the siege
and fall of Sevastopol, aud attack and occupation of the Cemetery on the 1 8th June (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish
Medal). Served also the campaign of i860 in the north of China, including the action of Sinho, assault ami
capture of the Taku Forts (Medal with Cla6p).

Expedition in 18S4 under Sir Gerald Graham with the 19th Hussars, and was present in the engagements at El
Teb and Temai (mentioned in despatches, CB., and two Clasps).
705 Colonel A. T. Welsh served with the Soth Regiment in the Burmese war of 1852-53, including the storming of
Martaban, bombardment of Rangoon and subsequent operations on the 12th 13th and 14th April, and capture of the
great Dagon Pagoda, and storming of Rangoon; bombardment and capture of Prome (mentioned in General
Goodwin's despatches, and specially thanked by the Governor General of India in Council), night attacks of the
enemy on the Camp on the heights of Prome, and expedition into Poungdey district in February and March 1853
(Medal with Clasp for Pegu, and Brevet of Major;.

'"' Sir Trevor Wheler served in the Suilej campaign of 1846, including the affair of Buddiwal, and battles of

recapture of Pegu, and the advance on Tongnoo (Medal with Clasp for Pegu). Served in the Indian Mutiny cam-
paign in 1858-59, including the capture of Lucknow, action of Barree, and commanded the troops that defeated the
Nusseerabad Brigade at Sahadutgunge on 30th March 185S capturing five guns (Brevet of Major). Proceeded to
Central India and served under Sir Kobert Napier; was in command of a tieldforce for some months in the pur-
suit of Prince Ferozshah (Medal with Clasp;. Also served with the Eusof/.ai Field Force in 1863, and was severely
wounded at CJmbeyla (Medal with Clasp). Bhootan war of 1865-66 (Clasp).

Sebastopol (Medal with Clasp, and Turkish Medal). Served in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, including the
battle of Cawnpore on 6th December, action of Futtehghur, and affair of Kankur (Medal).
~ lu Colonel W. H. White served with the 49th and 26th Madras Native Infantry during the Burmese war of
1S52-53, and was present at the action of Martaban, defeat and pursuit of the enemy on 26th May 1852, attack and
destruction of the Burman camp and repulse of the enemy's attacks on the nights of the 17th and 18th July, and
from 20th July to 18th Aug. 1852 (Medal with Clasp for Pegu).
