1 Lieut. General Redmond served with the 61st Regt. throughout the Punjaub campaign of 1848-40, and was pre-
sent at the passage of the Chenab and in the battles of Sadoolapore, Chillianwailah, and Goojerat, and with the
Field Force in pursuit of the enemy to the Khyber Pass (Medal with two Clasps). Expedition into the Eusufzie
Country, and skirmishes near Saggow and Zoormundie on nth and 14th Dec. 1849. Commanded the flank Com-
panies oist Regiment with the force under Sir Colin Campbell at the forcing of the Kohat Pass in Feb. 1850 (Medal
with Clasp). Commanded Detachment 61st Regiment which repulsed the attack of the mutinous Sepoys on the
magazine at Ferozepore on 13th May 1857, and was severely wounded. Served at the siege (from 14th Aug.),
assault and capture of Delhi (Medal with Clasp, and CB.).
- Lt.Colonel Lindsell served in the South African war in 1899-1900, and took part in the operations at Paardeberg
of 16th to 27th February 1900 — severely wounded (mentioned in despatches, CB.).
3 Lt.Colonel Humphery served in the South African war in 1899-1900 with the 1st Battalion Gloucestershire
Regiment, and was present in the engagement at Rietfontein as second in command, and in the engagement at
Lombard's Kop in command; also served in the operations of the Drakensberg Defence Force including the
seizure of Van Reenen's Pass.
s Major Cure served with the Burmese Expedition in 1886-87 as Transport Officer to the Ruby Mines
Column (mentioned in despatches, DSO., and Medal with Clasp). Served in the South African w r ar in 1899-1900
with the 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, and was present in the engagement at Rietfontein and in the action
at Lombard's Kop as second in command.
6 Major Richardson-Griffiths served in the Afghan war in 1879-80 with the 8th Benga Native Infantry (Medal).
7 Major Wallace served with the Dongola Expeditionary Force under Sir Herbert Kitchener in 1896 in command
of the 15th Soudanese Battalion, including the engagement at Firket and the operations at Hafir (mentioned in
despatches, 4th Class of the Osmanieh, Khedive's Medal with two Clasps). Served in the South African war in
1899-1900 with the 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, and was present in the engagements at Rietfontein and
Lombard's Kop, and in the operations of the Drakensberg Defence Force.
s Major Bishop served in the South African war in 1899-1900 with the 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment
with the Natal Field Force, including the relief of Ladysmith and the operations of the Drakensberg Defence Force,
including the seizure of Van Reenen's Pass.
12 Captain Fyffe served in the South African war in 1899-1900, and was present in the engagement at Farquhar's
Farm — severely wounded.
15 Captain Venables (DSO.) and Lieut. Ruck served in the South African war in 1899-1900 with the 1st Battalion
Gloucestershire Regiment, and were present in the engagements at Rietfontein and Lombard's Kop, and at the
siege of Ladysmith.
14 Captain Tulloh, Lieuts. Pritchett and Baynes, Second Lieuts. Pomeroy, Symons, Needham, Montgomery,
Richmond, Johnson, Tweedie, and Blyth served in the South African war in 1899-1900 with the 1st Battalion
Gloucestershire Regiment, and took part in the operations of the Drakensberg Defence Force including the seizure
of Van Reenen's Pass.
15 Captain Conner served in the South African war in 1899-1900 with the 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment,
and was present in the engagements at Rietfontein and Lombard's Kop — slightly wounded.
16 Captain Gardiner served in the Ashanti Expedition under Sir Francis Scott in 1895 (Star). Served in the South
African war in 1899-1900 on Transport duty.
18 Captain Jordan served in the South African war in 1899-1900, and was present in the engagement at Driefon-
tein — slightly wounded (DSO.).
19 Captain Burges served in the campaign in the Soudan under Sir Herbert Kitchener in 1898, and was present at
the battle of Khartoum (mentioned in despatches), and in the subsequent operations (mentioned in despatches,
British Medal, and Khedive's Medal with Clasp).
20 Captain Bryant, Lieuts. Temple, Radice, and Mackenzie served in the South African war in 1899-1900 with
the 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, and were present in the engagements at Rietfontein, Lombard's Kop,
and Honing Spruit.
21 Captains Nisbet, Ingram, and Knox, Lieuts. Breul and Beasley served in the South African war in 1899-1900,
and were present in the engagements at Rietfontein and Lombard's Kop.
23 Captain Gardner served in the South African war in 1899-1900 with the Kimberley Relief Force, and was
present in the engagement at Klip Drift, in the operations at Paardeberg of 18th to 27th February 1900, in the
engagements at Poplar Grove and Driefontein, the operations at Bloemfontein Water Works, and subsequently with
the Natal Field Force.
24 Captain Davy served with the expedition to the Tambaka Country, on the West Coast of Africa, in 1892,
including the capture of Tambi (Medal with Clasp). Served in the South Af'iican war in 1899-1900 with the 1st
Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment, and was present in the engagements at Rietfontein and Lombards Kop.
23 Captain Rising served in the South African war in 1899-1900 with the Kimberley Relief Force, and was present
in the engagement at Klip Drift, in the operations at Paardeberg of 18th to 27th February 1900, in the engagements

27 Lieut. Hill served in the South African war in 1899-1900 as Adjutant 1st Battalion Gloucestershire Regiment,
and was present in the engagements at Rietfontein and Lombard's Kop, and in the operations of the Drakensberg
Defence Force, including the seizure of Van Reenen's Pass.
