1 Lieut.General Roberts served with the 28th Regiment throughout the Eastern campaign of 1854-55, including
the Battles of Aloa and Iakerman, siege and fall of Sebastopol, and affair i a the Cametervon the iSth June (Medal
with three Clasps, Brevet of Major, Knight of the Legion of Honor, 5th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal l.
Commanded a detachment of 500 men of the 28th Regt. against the Wagners with the Okamundel Field Force in
1859, including the assault on the Fort of Beyt on the 6th Oct., and siege and occupation of Dwarka. ; commanded
the reconnaissance on Dwarka from Lt. Colonel Donovan's Force, consisting of 2 field-pieces and 150 men, on the
26th October 1859. Served in the Afghan war in 1879-80 in command of a Brigade of the Kabul Field Force and
in command of tne Bala Hissar Fortress till promoted to Major General (Medal),
2 Colonel Payne served in the operations against Sekukuni in the Transvaal in 187S, including the storming
of Tolyana's Stadt; also throughout the Zulu war of 1879, and was present in the engagements of Zungin Nek,
Kambula Hill, and 171 undi( Medal with Clasp). Served with the Burmese Expedition in 1SS5-86 with the 2nd
Battalion Somersetshire Light Infantry (mentioned in despatches, DSO., and Medal with Clasp). Served in the
campaign on the North West Frontier of India under Sir William Lockhart in '.S97 with the Mohmand Field Force
with the 1st Battalion Somersetshire Light Infantry (Medal with Clasp).
7 Lt. Colonel Murray served in the operations in Zululand in i8S3. Served in the South African war in 1S99-1903
as Deputy Assistant Adjutant General for Intelligence, Natal Field Force, and afterwards as an Assistant Adju-
tant General (mentioned in despatches. DSO.).

the campaign on the North West Fronteir of India under Sir William Lockhart in 1897-9S with the 2nd Battalion

and tLe occupation of the Khyber Pass (Medal with two Clasps). Served in the South African war in 1899-1903
with the Lads'smith Relief Force, and was present at the battle of Colenso and in the operations of 17th to 24th
January 1900 (mentioned in despatches, Brevet of Major).
13 Captain Hancx served with the Chin-Lushai Expeditionary Force iu 1889 -90 (Medal with Clasp).
