The Dounreay Fast Reactor Power Station
Project (see p. 176): a photograph of the
model and diagram of the reactor. The heat
is removed from the reactor core by a liquid
metal which is surrounded by inert gas. The
coolant passes to the heat exchanger and
there, by heating water, produces steam
which drives the steam turbines. These then
rotate the generators and produce electricity.
