God, Act of
On the address of the General Assembly, the day appointed
[second Thui'sday in January] is to be kept a day of fast and
humiliation. These to be proclaimed, read in all pulpits,
and printed with the Act of General Assembly.

Troops.

Commissioners of Supply to meet each first and third
Tuesday in shires where horse or dragoons are quartered
to fix the price of corns, hay, and straw. They are to pro¬
vide magazines in each burgh for 14 days' supply of the
horse quartered there. Keceipts to be given for all forage
served out to troops, which shall be good as accounting for
the cess of the shire used in buying the forage. The col¬
lectors of cess to advance money to the Commissioners of
Supply for the purpose of buying forage. This to be pro¬
claimed.

By royal letter, Kensington 13 Nov., the 3 regiments
under E. of Glencairn, Visct. Kenmuir, and Lodovick Grant
of that ilk, and the company of . .. Meinzies of Weym are to
march to Inverlochy. By Act of P.C. Sir Thomas Livingston
was ordered to march them (29 Nov.). All deserters or
soldiers without a pass are to be arrested ; officers who do
not go with their companies to be punished as deserters.
These to be proclaimed.

A grant of 14s. Scots for every hearth in Scotland at
Candlemas last except hospitals and poor people on the
charity of the parish. James Melvill of Cassingray has been
appointed receiver. All heretors, &c., tenants, and posses¬
sors are to give in true lists of all hearths, smiddies, kilns,
ovens, furnaces for brewing, salt-pans, soap and glass works
possest by them or standing on their ground. The collector
to report these lists to the Treasury. These to be pro¬
claimed.
