own, or will not disown a late Treasonable
Declaration of War against His Majesty, and the
horrid Principle of Assassination.

A treasonable paper has been fixed up. The Apologetical
Declaration and Admonitory Vindication of the Presbyterians
of tlie Church of Scotland, especially anent intelligencers and
informers, which makes assassination a duty. All who do
not disown this, as far as it declares a war against the King,
are rebels. All heretors are to convene the inhabitants who
shall take an oath of abjuration of the Declaration. The
heretors shall certify this to the commissioners appointed.
The certificate shall act as a pass for travelling. No person
is to harbour those who have not these certificates, . . .
hundred merks Scots reward for the discovery of any of the
assassinate, or pretended members of the society.
