Traffickers to Sell or Exchange any Prohibite
Gommodities, with themselves, or amongst others.

Cites Act of Sept. 1681 and proclamation 11 April 1681, No.
2503, q.v. In tenderness to merchants the wearing of pro¬
hibited goods was not forbidden, but only their import.
Though sufficient time has elapsed to consume their stocks
the illegal import still continues, ruining the manufactures
here. No one is to buy or sell any cloathes, stuffs, sarges,
hoUand, Cambridge, silk-stockings, or any goods made of
wool or lint after this date. Liberty given to merchant
burgesses of Edinburgh to sell or export their stock before
1 November next. Prohibited goods will be burnt, and the
importers punished.

Rebels who have taken the Test at the late Justice-
Ayres, as to their Lives,

Commoners who through ignorance, &c., have lost the
benefit of the indemnity may take the Test up to 1 March
next, except those who helped the assassins of the Arch¬
bishop, seditious field preachers, or the late conspirators.
Heretors who have taken the Test are free as to their lives,
but must satisfy the other punishments. This to be pro¬
claimed,

Cites letters patent, 29 June 1674, granting American
lands to D. of York, part of which, Nova Caesaria or New
Jersey, was vested in John, L. Berkley of Stratton, and Sir
George Carteret, Bt. The east portion of this was assigned
to Sir G. Carteret, and assigned to the present proprietors.
By indenture, 14 March 1682[3], the D. of York confirmed
this grant to James, E, of Perth, John Drummond of Londine,
Robert BarclayofUre, Robert Gordon of Cluny, and 20 others.
Boundaries E. and N, along the sea coast and Hudson's
River from Little Egg Harbour to 41°N. Lat, All planters
and inhabitants to yield obedience to the laws and govern¬
ment of the said grantees. The Governor and Council to
give public notice. Names of the Scottish-men already
engaged : E. of Perth, Thesaurer Depute Register, Sir John
Gordon, Advocat, John Fullertoun of Kinaber, Thomas
Fulerton his brother, George Alexander, Patrick Lyon,
Thomas Gordon, Charles Gordon, Arthur Forbes, Dr. James
Willox, John Sandilands, Andrew Galloway, William Gerard,
Robert Gordon, Robert Barclay of Ury, David Barclay his
brother, James Johnstoun of Spotswood, Robert Gordon of
